DR records were amazing. For a very short period of time. When you think about it... It was about 4 years. Mid 93 until about mid 97... But they achieved a lot in that short space of time. Think of the solo albums and the soundtracks that they put out.

For Doggystyle alone, I am grateful.

DR went down like the Titanic. Was their downfall really triggered by events after Pac's death? That label was a powerhouse back then.

Glad to have grown up around that time and I'll always remember the DR era. Then there was the myth behind them which really did well for their marketing. Like when Dre left DR, the buzz about that was huge. I remember when I got my first copy of AEOM, flipping open the CD 2 and seeing that DR logo well placed on the inside.

Pac got a sales bump after Hologram did his thing.

Tupac's 1998 album "Greatest Hits" returns to the Billboard 200 for the first time since 2000, as it jumps back in at No. 129 with 4,000 copies sold according to Nielsen SoundScan (a gain of 571% over the previous week). The MC's other albums also saw gains, including "All Eyez On Me" (2,000; up 95%) and "Me Against the World" (1,000; up 53%).

The late rapper's songs got a boost too. His biggest seller of the week was "Hail Mary" -- the song his projection opened with at Coachella. The song moved 13,000 downloads last week for a 1,530% sales increase. His second biggest seller was his No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit "California Love" (featuring Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman), shifting 11,000 downloads (119% increase). His third best-seller was the second Tupac song that was performed at Coachella -- "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" (with Snoop). It sold 9,000 (up 881%).

Not bad, and this is only via a web sensation of the hologram. The tour would really pick things up I guess.

EDIT: On a side note, 2pac's official facebook page (run by his estate) have been putting YouTube links to his OG tracks. I noticed 'Do for love', & 'Words to my first born' over the past two days. They titled those two in their original names. 'Watch your mouth' was also added. Could something be in the works after all these years? I doubt, but at least they're acknowledging those songs exist.

anything that bump up pac's record sales is good for his legacy.. so i'm hoping for some new hologram shit, but a complete tour, dont think it's that good.. would get uploaded on the net after the first concert and the other city's/country wont sell as much ticket as in the first called tour...

but some new holoogram on like a snoop concert or outlawz concert would be nice.. but please some other songs he did with snoop.. not always the same tribute songs snoop is doing since 96...
