2pac and Fugees beef question

Who started this beef and why?I know Tupac dissed them on "When we ride on our enemies" but did they ever reply?Did Fugees and Pac squash the beef before Pac passed away?It's strange,because in her album(or maybe in Fugees' album,I can't remember exactly...),Lauryn Hill thanx Tupac in the booklet...

I read somewhere that it had something to do with the Fugees song 'Cowboys'. Although the song apparently has nothing to do with Tupac I could envision the Fugees talking about the song & giving Tupac as an example of someone they think is running 'round acting like a 'coowboy'.

Well it all started when the Fugees were on MTV on a video countdown and they played California Love and right after the video finished. One of them said that Eastside is The Best Side. Honestly though I think 2Pac over exaggerated that one beef. I mean c'mon wouldnt you rep you side or someone elses. They didnt mean to get at Pac. Pac always heated easily so he dissed them.

Jimmy Henchman is that snitch that setup up and screwed Pac, he's also Wyclef cousin I heard. BTW I once heard that Lauryn Hill said not to buy Pac's MATW and rather buy The Score or something like that. Anyways maybe I got the story twisted but I'm not too sure.
