When I was 16 I could get into 21 and older clubs very easily...and not look out of place. I have also dated someone with a 6 year age difference.

to put this in retrospect, it's 2007. that alone should say it all, it's a fucked up world where people have little to no morales.
also, what about some of these muslims? there's like 28 year olds MARRIED to 14 year olds in some countries and states. it's all messed up.
all you can really do is like most peeps said, raise ya kid to learn-understand-know-persevere. but it's so hard in todays world, MTV and other sorted BS keeps feeding the younger generations straight up visual ignorance... and the kids feed into it like fiends to crack.
then again, 16 is legal in most countries and it should be on the 22 year olds shoulders to know better. I don't agree with synful though that most 22 year old males have the same maturity as 17 year old girls. whoever honestly believes that girls "mature" quicker then males or vice verser needs to go and see the rest of the world a.s.a.p.. Cause underneath all the clothes, jewels, make up and ego's.. female/male whatever, individually everyone matures different. Shit I've even come to the conclusion that people don't really mature until they've reached atleast 35-40.

That's not maturity, that's more along the lines of wisdom, then. But, then, I'd argue that we don't stop learning and improving our wisdom 'till our last breath.

Its not so much a Muslim thing as it is and old tradition. As soon as females are ready to bare children they are ready to get married and do so. It's sad but thats how it used to be for a long long time and many people don't grow up in cultures such as the western culture and thus adapt those century old and outdated traditions.
I am not religious but Muslims get a lot of false blame these days. It's like labeling all Christians child molesters for what a few priests did.
