I've heard many people talk about this.

I've seen the advert on tv and the effects look quite good. would like to see this. also wanted to see "the day after tomorrow", which i didnt get a chance to.

anyone care to talk about 2012 or day after?

So gay. I was looking forward to it, but when i saw the LA scene where the ground mysteriously starts opening up and rising, i gave up on the movie. The graphics are so... gay.

Nothing's going to happen. It's just the end of the 5th sun.

elaborate... you mean from the trailer?

its supposed to spark fear between us people. i think its to do with that 'doomsyday clock' i was reading about in the newspaper about 2-3 years ago.

they said the clock is on a about 10 o'clock due to all the world events, global warming and disasters. once it reaches midnight, the world will end.

It's eye candy, that's all. Not that the world is gonna end or anything. Go see it in theaters just for the wow effect. The same for the Day After Tomorrow.

It sucked in dialogue and story, but the effects were nice.

yea i think thats what alot of people are after. a mindblowing type specialist effect which makes them think what if? when? and their mind is in another dimension in terms of the thought of how things will happen if....

i dont think i will either. its not really my kind of film to go to the cinema and watch. i prefer comedies and action films like rush hour.

They dont have a sequel planned.

The director has said that he would like to see a "2013" type TV series showing how some survivors rebuild civilization but it would be more of a dramatic show. It was just a passing comment though.

_carmi is full of shit :). *Ducks the slap heading his way

I had low expectations but it managed to suck even worse. Okay you know you're in for shitty dialogue, a bad story etc. but it's a disaster movie at least it'll be nice visually and maybe exciting... nope. It was so by the book I got pissed off at the cliches before they happened (one moment I thought "don't you fucking dare" but they dared and I wanted to kill the person who thought "oh lawl this Biblical reference will blow peoples' mind!" Fuck you). The Mayan references were so vague you can't even justify calling it 2012.

The movie doesn't flow nicely either. Either nothing happening or too much happening. It was just really, really tedious.
