Cool shit....what do you think of Te Amo Corazon? I'm liking it.

(Any chance of you hooking me up with Purple Rain Live....can't find any decent versions?)

No probs Cat and Coop.

As for Te Amo Corazon..

I have my copy as you can see. It's a great ballad. Nothing spectacular, but it's a smooth jam, something you can just kick back and chill to. Lovin the video to it though (man that swimming pool is tight).

Lots of fans seem to think Prince is going to churn out something mediocre with 3121, but with this level of support from Universal I sincerely doubt it.

Musicology was testing the waters in my opinion, to see if the media were ready for the spectacular return... The Musicology tour in particular proved that they were. And although the album was average, there were some jams on there.

Me being a bootleg collector as well, I'm particularly interested to hear the new single "black sweat" as I managed to get a hold of a live acoustic bootleg of it that was played on 1 or 2 musicology shows, and it sounds funky!!! You better believe I will be getting my tickets well in advance for this tour, no matter where it is!

©, I'm feeling happy today, so check your PM inbox in about 5 minutes for a full 13 minute version of Purple Rain from the original 1984 First Avenue performance, complete with extra verse. Feel free to give me a rep! ;)

/\ I prefer the funk as a first single, generally. I think people are getting confused though really, Te Amo is more of a taster tune that happened to get pressed onto CD. I consider "Black Sweat" to be the first single really.

The thing is prince just released the charity single "brand new orleans" which was not all that fantastic. however i actually really liked musicology esp the guitar on cinamon girl and the funk of the title track

an interesting side note i found the original to the beautiful ones on the net but every one i spoke to says its only available in shitty quality- militant as you collect do you know if the promo for the beautiful ones of purple rain has the full end verse. if it does how much does it go for?
btw wasn't this album due in mid jan?
oh yeah as your a big fan and i have just started to listen to prince 8/9 months ago tell me which are your favorite albums and why( if you have the time) people say purple rain is prince's best album but i think the album Prince from 1979 is better agree? also the concept and pretty much the whole gold experience was dope imo but every one else thinks its just average what about you?
also did prince perform if i was your girlfriend with miles davis- i have the song from limewire but it doesn't sound like miles
any chance i can get that purple rain full song to?

/\ Nah, the charity single was "S.S.T". The B-Side to "S.S.T" was "Brand New Orleans" which was basically an extended instrumental funk jam of "S.S.T".

I liked S.S.T, I thought it was an awesome song.

Musicology as an album was average, although it did have some killer jams on there.

There is no promo for The Beautiful Ones, that contains anything other than the final released version. I do have the original, but yes, the quality is average at best. Tell me the length of your version and I'll let you know if its the original recording.

No, this album has never been due in January. The release date was only announced around 2 weeks ago.

"Prince" is not better than "Purple Rain" - for the simple fact that the album was unoriginal, average and brought nothing new to the music industry. "Purple Rain" may not have shocked or pushed as many boundaries as "Dirty Mind", "Controversy", or "1999", but it was concise, perfectly arranged, and above all, masterfully bridged commercial appeal with groundbreaking music that was a perfect blend of funk, rock, and soul.

Gold Experience was one of the better albums of the 90's. Again it didn't offer much new that the man hadnt been done before, and it largely suffered from bad marketing (due to the WB problems), overproduction on Prince's part, and the gap between him talking about it and actually releasing it was far too long, by which time the public didnt really care as much. Not a bad album though.

I have the full 1987 concert with Miles Davis, it is available in audio and video. Great gig. Yes that concert does include "If I Was Ur Girlfriend".

I don't generally give away songs for free. It's available if you know where to look. I was happy yesterday for whatever reason. I'm pissed today because my cellphone broke.
