the car does have potential. if someone can properly build it, it might be able to tap well over 300whp all motor. thats nowhere near rice burner. rice burner is what i see in new jersey, kids with wings, alteezas tail lights, and wont leave mustang owners alone. their cars run 18 second quarter miles and make around 90whp. this eclipse is NOWHERE near rice burner. this thing runs 14s out of factory which is good for a fwd eclipse. i used to own a dodge stealth r/t. and i can tell you it was quick from a roll. and guess what it made 222hp all motor. the same if not more than some mustangs were making at the time. the car handled good too, we always took it to the park to run it in the twisties and we had no oversteer, only in the rain. that car was bone stock and didnt sound ricey at all. it sounded quiet at the lower rpms but still had a growl like a supra, and when it opened up in the higher rpms, it sounded like a supra too.

Yeah, that type of shit is rice. Or the fools i see here with their Civics. They bolt on huge exhausts, the cars make a horrible noise and go like shit.

SUPRA'S HAVE A GROWL!!!!????
All they have is a whining sound like the engine is about to kick the bucket.

supras do have a growl. take a ride in one and youll see. and with few mods, they make more horsepower than some ferraris and pull like a mofo.

Also take a ride in a viper that v-10 produces tons of horsepower. ALL MOTOR BABY. I seen one doing 600 HP all motor.
Oh i seen(was too scared to sit in it) a shelby gt with 1200 hp oh yeah that thing can kill any supra, almost all the street, track car whatever in the market or wait in the planet, but do u know who drives that one, a guy i know that used to work in IBM. Poor guy he was soo retired he couldnt maintain that poor old thing and had to sell it for a VERY VERY HIGH price ofcourse. If i remember for sure his was producing 1000HP all motor and also it had the HEMI design. Dont think hemi is only made by dodge. chevy and ford both have a version of the hemispheric combustable chamber engines.

I DONT WANT TO TURN THIS IN TO HUGE AMERICAN VS IMPORT BATTLE BUT CRY. American motors have always lead out the most in putting horsepower and torque to the rear wheels.

hello, the viper has 8 liters of course its going to get all that horsepower naturally. theres supras and 3000gts with 3 liter engines doing that with mid sized turbos. theres a sleeper turbo civic out there that makes 800whp. its only 2.3 liters. and makes more horsepower that some vipers. and guess what, its a grocery getter. to tell the truth i love muscle cars, my father also owned plenty of mustangs and camaros in his day. if you want to bring motorcycles into it, theres turbo hayabusas making 700whp. way more than some vipers and thats on a 500 pound bike. theres also the eagle talon. john shephard has one that makes over 600whp and runs 8s with no problems. you say you dont want to create a battle, yet you call imports rice burners. stop doing that if you dont want to create a war.

Aye, word. Both "sides" make hella fast cars. A 1200hp Shelby is great and all, but the Japanese just as easy build a 1200hp Skyline to go with it. On a 2.6 litres engine, mind you.

It's just different approaches. The end result is generally the same. Fast cars.

lol, thank you. But i agree with your post wholeheartedly as well. I'm a car fan. I love a 800bhp roaring Viper just as much as i love a 800bhp hissing Supra. I've always frowned upon those import vs. domestic wars that some messageboards have. Those people were so convinced that imports were "better" than domestics or the other way around.

But the thing is, each car should be judged on it's merits. And not because it's Detroit Iron or Tokyo Turbo monster.
