10/11 season transfer/rumors thread

^^Alonso has to be in there. id imagine that Khedira will take Diarra's place. He was diagnosed with sickle cell so im wondering if that will effect his ability to play alot of games.

im sure the Mourinho will find room for two defensive midfielers anyway.

Yeah my ass. On the other hand, The first team coach is Bosnian and Wegner has confidence in his decisions so it could be true.

he was offered a rolling contract or something like that by Benitez because of all the injury problems he had. he rejected that so he was released when his contract was up but he never actually left Liverpool and has been training with them since the start of pre season. Hodgson obviously wanted him to stay on so gave him a new 2 year contract.

Aurelio is a fine footballer. but can be suspect defensively. if he stays fit it is good that he stays.

Insua played in the friendly today as well.

he is in the next Brazil squad and is only 23.

Stilian Petrov has been very consistant for Villa for last 2 seasons. he is a good footballer. good on the ball. He passes the ball well and has good technique.underrated. im not saying he is world class or anything though and i think he is getting on a bit now as well.

Milner is above average. But a long way from world class. Downing is a decent premiership footballer. Young has the most natural talent at Villa. Gab could be world class if he lived up to his potential. Apart from your defence, which is very good. Although Brad will need replacing sooner, rather than later. I see lots of holes. I used to think Carew was a fantastic player, but his heart wasn't in it last season.

You need Central midfielders and a quality striker. Otherwise top 6 is your aim.

yea he said that about a 2 time champions league, European Championships and World Cup winning captain which is funny when you consider that overrated asshole Cantona did nothing at international level and retired at the age of 29 wasnt it?
 
He was banned at International level for awhile though. His goalscoring at that level is pretty good. 20 goals in 45 games? and I have more respect for a player retiring because hes lost passion for the game than collecting his wage packet and doing fuck all for a couple of more seasons. And in regards to Lucas. You need to drop the blinkers. He is shit. in regards to him being a brazil international.... I wouldn't agree. 4 caps in 4 years puts him on the fringes, and that's being generous.

Don't hate him because he was a manc. Cantona is in the top 3 of greatest premier league players.

HE also fell out with the French manager and quit early on. He was a legend.
 
Premier League great and a very gifted player ill give him that but the fact remains he achieved nothing on a european or international level so he has no right to call someone like Deschamps a water carrier not that Deschamps would care to much what Cantona thought. he was probably too busy polishing his Champions League, Euro Championships and World Cup medals :)

oh sorry, yea lol i should have put re-signed

as for Lucas, he isnt that bad. he did ok for Liverpool last season. the problem is that he is no Xabi Alonso and plays in a similar position to Mascherano. He sits and holds in midfield beside Mascherano and doesnt get forward enough.
 
i read in the paper that Barcelona look set to pip Man Utd for Ozil? and the fee they gave was 8 million. surely thats a mistake? he is at least worth 15.
 
now Mascerano wants to move to Barca.

they dont need him. they have a superior player in his position already. the guy is an ungrateful asshole. massively overrated as well.
