wow i'm pretty sure some ppl can't go on msn or aim bc of being at work and i think it's bs that ruk says we can have off topic chat and that's what this is and now you want to close it. come on now it's not like we are out in other threads "freeposting" we are just in here!!

i agree its just freeposting. there are messengers out there, if you want to have a conversation about "oh how are you" and so on, use them.

the shoutbox is down but i dont feel like that means you should go in here and continue your off-topic chat. in the end this is a internet board and i dont think this belongs in here.

If a thread is getting out of hand with beef and after warnings doesn't look like it will get back on track.
If a thread has become a giant freepost.
If the thread is inappropriate.

the thing is guys, the shoutbox was closed for a reason. If we have the same amount of posts that been posted in the shoutbox in a thread, we'll probablly have even more traffic then we had with the shoutbox.

Doesnt work that way. The shoutbox took a butt load of resources because 1) it was ajax and 2) it generated a new page for each shout, where as a thread generates one page per 15.

Regardless, I could put the shoutbox back up now I opitimized it, but I wont, because Our block is so much better since it was taken down.

Ok, should we re-open this thread? Should we allow freeposting threads like this?
