The controlled environment is what has made the company successful.
What made Apple successful is Good marketing and fanboyism, and that didn't happen until the first iPod was released. Before that, Apple was just another brand of computer primarily owned by people who are involved in graphics, video and music. Marketing made them what they are now, not good technology.

All Apple care about is making a quick buck from people who want to be cool.

I don't hate Apple, i'd buy a Mac if I could afford the ridiculous prices, but all it would be good for is doing some photoshop and editing some videos, nothing else.

Actually, when Steve Jobs came back to Apple in the mid 1990s, the company was a mess. The people in charge were so desperate for market share that they allowed third parties to develop Mac clones in order to satisfy the Wal Mart shoppers. What in fact happened was what you see in the windows world where an OS performs inconsistently. In order to solve this problem, Jobs killed off the clones, to have full control of the software and hardware ecosystem. The 'ecosystem' model is still at work. When you buy an iPhone, they all act the same. When you buy an Android, it depends on who's phone it's on.

Of course Apple has its fair share of good marketing and fanboism, just like the Android world.

I don't hate Google, I just think they are good at PR campaigns and they keep people satisfied with their so-called free social experiments

Spoken like a true Android user. Again, the only people that complain are people who do not use the iPhone. Go figure.
1. I know a lot of people who complain about their Iphones and Macs.
2. Most people who do simply don't use them - fair and simple.
3. Most Mac users don't even know by themselves why they are better, don't think on their own and have no experience with other systems and MOST opinions about Macs are lies plain and simple. Do you remember that marketing tool when they lied about how they are the only ones to do something? Like "only here you can put your computer to sleep with just closing a lid" -every other system did that too, "it doesn't crash" - yeah, right. It does and it's a nightmare to troubleshoot, "we have the one and only *insert any simple program like Iphotos here*" - every other system had more better freeware programs for the very same thing and you could choose from a wide variety of those that could suit you.
They just made you feel a certaing way - probably made you feel that you have something superior when it fact it was not by any means. And that's what they are still doing.
And I find it utterly stupid that many people still believe in things like these even though they never held any merit at all.
Also that bullshit that they are so awesome for Photoshop etc. - how the fuck if Macs use ported version of Windows Photoshop which works faster on Windows AND Windows machines are usually initially faster.
Apple is all about lies and a terrible marketing (I mean - it's great but not nice at all). It's pretty sad to see that so many people fall for it. I mean - most casual people still think that their Iphones are "the one and only awesome choice" when they're not best at.. pretty much anything. Maybe except of the fact that they fulfill a need created by Apple marketing and competition does not.

Same with that stability myth - Macs are terribly written - seriously programmers at Apple suck balls big time. They're trying to keep that opinion by banning thing that can mess with your computer. Then users get no multi-tasking as an outcome because they can't do it right.

And Android fans wants to perpetrate a myth that Macs can't compete in a high end environment.
Because that's not a myth. Apple is not advanced in any branch except of dirty marketing. Really, if they made a fast computer it would probably cost million dollars.

Because you're taking something so trivial and making it sound like its tyranny.
See, Apple fanboys can't understand that Apple is a terrible company making the market for electronics go wrong way. There are hundreds of reasons why it annoys most people in IT and most of them are really justified.
And when they say that Macs suck it's really true.
If there were more smart people Apple would lose its market share.

I know a lot of people who complain about their Iphones and Mac
Aside from "I wish it has Flash" and "I wish it wasn't on AT&T" most of the complaints such as USB ports and removable battery are done by people who are looking to shit on Apple products. Two of the biggest whiners here are You, masta, and Casey - two that, I'm guessing from reading posts, that have never took time with the devices they hate on. Now wait for Casey to come in here and start talking about how one of his hundred cousins is an Apple employee or something like that.

Most people who do simply don't use them - fair and simple.
I'm guessing that "stupidity" alone does not explain Apple's 80% consumer satisfaction rating along with the continuing market growth. But if you feel superior by saying so, then be my guest.

Most Mac users don't even know by themselves why they are better, don't think on their own and have no experience with other systems and MOST opinions about Macs are lies plain and simple.
I've continued to explain why Macs are better to the alternative, but you have continued to ignore that and insist on talking about lack of USB ports.

Do you remember that marketing tool when they lied about how they are the only ones to do something? Like "only here you can put your computer to sleep with just closing a lid" -every other system did that too, "it doesn't crash" - yeah, right.
No, I do not.

every other system had more better freeware programs for the very same thing and you could choose from a wide variety of those that could suit you.
It makes sense that more users=more software. As for Apple, 98% of the preinstalled software on Macs just work. It's a working ecosystem.

They just made you feel a certaing way - probably made you feel that you have something superior
Do you feel that way when you use your Android phone?

Also that bullshit that they are so awesome for Photoshop etc. - how the fuck if Macs use ported version of Windows Photoshop which works faster on Windows AND Windows machines are usually initially faster.
Why don't you email Adobe and find out what's going on over there?

I went to Art Institute of Minnesota for a short while, and interned at a local graphic design shop. Macs only at all times.

Peronsal bias? Maybe.

Same with that stability myth - Macs are terribly written - seriously programmers at Apple suck balls big time. They're trying to keep that opinion by banning thing that can mess with your computer. Then users get no multi-tasking as an outcome because they can't do it right.
Well, we need to separate desktop/laptop with mobile phones. Macs have multitasking and flash.
iPhones do not have full multitasking and no flash. It's a common thought that Flash sucks, it's terribly written by Adobe, but you somehow think that it's Apple's fault because you like flash.

Because that's not a myth. Apple is not advanced in any branch except of dirty marketing. Really, if they made a fast computer it would probably cost million dollars.
It's a myth until you come up with actual facts.

See, Apple fanboys can't understand that Apple is a terrible company making the market for electronics go wrong way. There are hundreds of reasons why it annoys most people in IT and most of them are really justified.
And when they say that Macs suck it's really true.
If there were more smart people Apple would lose its market share.
I can shorten that to

Apple sucks, lots of people hate it, people who own it are stupid.

Not very solid.

Next please

I believe all the UK networks have picked up the Desire. Voda have the exclusive for 2/3 months on the Legend, after that T-Mob will carry it also (and possibly Orange).

wonder how voda will try and push the htc phones and nexus one if they are getting the iphone because as you know they will market the iphone with some good deals now the 3GS is almost at the end of its life cycle.

damn google are evil. that s.fourteen will never be a fact. sounds opinionated, therefore always will be opinionated. same goes for any other company because everyone has different perceptions.

of course if a company really was evil it should be more evident i.e. environment and other tactics.

anyway, ima go make me something to eat.

p.s. there arent 4G aerials set up here yet are there? thought it was in some parts of the US for now.
