Well, I got myself a Samsung Galaxy Spica (i5700) in a very nice price. Initially I planned to sell it for a better price and buy i7500 or a HTC Magic but I'm stuck right now. The fact that I wasn't planning to get it for myself kind of keeps me from being happy about this phone but I like it. Also, it doesn't support multitouch.
I found out that I couldn't live without the audio jack (HTC Magic) and I guess I'll just wait for any info on i7500 software updates.
If i7500 gets these updates then I'll sell my Spica and get the proper Galaxy just for the better camera, screen and memory. However I like divx and xvid support, awesome battery life and a fast 800mhz processor on my Spica.

I have to say there are some solutions in Android that I find inconvenient. Most of all the lack of file system I was used to. I have to use 3rd party software for that. Also no bluetooth file transfer - what the hell?

ok cool.

oh and btw, i forgot to mention that my phone system froze yesterday. i had to turn the phone off by taking out the battery.

since i rebooted the OS up and logged in, the apps keep forcing close on me. I cant really use the apps or anything with this happening. what should i do? because i havent backed up my data...

What I'm trying to say is that all the apps keep force closing. The only one that works is the web broswer and messaging.

If I was to reinstall cyanogens latest rom, would it erase my data without doing a nandroid backup?

Also, I can't remember if I did a nandroid backup since my latest rom update. Would a nandroid backup solve this problem?

I've also noticed that the size of facebook for android, twitter and a few other apps have signigicantly grown in size. E.g. facebook is at about 9.5MB after clearing cache and data.

ive tried reflashing the htc file and latest cyanogen rom. neither has worked.

all my apps keep forcing close on boot up and also whenever i manually launch them.

if i was to wipe all data, would i lose 'root'?

Is any one using yxflash yet? Shits been updated to play mpg and wmv as well as divx/xvid and mp4 files. I dont know why this is the only app that can actually do it.

I have a question - do your phones always work perfectly smooth?
My Spica works flawlessly but I can see (and hear) a bit of little but noticeable shuttering while for example starting youtube videos posted here. Strange as a 720p divx movie works perfectly smooth.
Also, while typing something (like website address) it sometimes lags for a second. Is it normal? At first I blamed background apps since being unable to shut them down seemed a bit confusing at the beginning.

not too sure. have you tried using task killer or a task manager to kill background processes? or are you viewing youtube videos in high quality? i find that viewing in high quality makes my G1 quite hot within seconds-minutes and it drains the battery life.

i just wish that right now, my phone would work. i cant download from the android market.

i just did a nandroid backup. (i thought that you could only backup the most recent backup, until i came across a list of 4 backups ive previously done).

im now back on an older CM ROM and wish i'd had made a more recent backup.

ive re-downloaded some of the apps back onto my sd card. but the problem now is that the android market thinks that my phone has the other apps installed. so when in the android market i cant 'open' or 'uninstall' the app since these two options are greyed out. how can i access the app from the market?
