but my point is, how can a Barcelona fan be certain that Man Utd were going to win? after how they have played this season and the quality they have in their team. I dont think you would have found many Barcelona fans who were certain that it was going to be a Man Utd victory.
Maybe he was using last years games as references when we nulified them completely.

We stone-walled the best attacking team on the planet, how does luck come into it?

Also you do know there is no such thing as luck? It's a term that has been invented to excuse a situation where the outcome is very unrealistic but happens anyway.

^^like John Terry slipping on his arse running up to kick a penalty? :D

You are completely missing my point. Were you certain before the game that Man Utd were going to lose?

luck is opportunity + ambition.

the best attacking team on the planet? us? last season? no.. just no! Sorry ;)

You weren't lucky, but in all honesty, Barcelona last season was ridiculous, it was a painful last 2 seasons..

the thing is, most Barca fans were confident that therir team would win. They have Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Henry, Puyol and Eto'o in their team for fucks sake. Man Utd arent as great as ye think or as they are hyped up to be. I dont understand this shit about not believing your team was going to win.

and whats height got to do with it? They have height where they needed it. at centre half and DM.
lol what's so hard to understand?
Maybe where you live Barcelona fans were confident, but believe me, a lot of others weren't.. Even in Barcelona (the city) most of the fans were totally lacking confidence..

this is what i was referring to

Of course you can have doubts about certain things. e.g Barcelona might be weak in defense or if you are a man utd supporter you might have been worried about your midfield

but my point is, how can a Barcelona fan be certain that Man Utd were going to win? after how they have played this season and the quality they have in their team. I dont think you would have found many Barcelona fans who were certain that it was going to be a Man Utd victory.
believe me, there were a LOT of Barcelona fans who doubted it..

But when a team is missing 3 of their main players at the back of course there will be doubts, I don't know why your getting hyped on about it lol.

POD is right, Eto'o looked hopelessy out of form, Henry and Iniesta were doubtfult to even play, so you take half the team out of course there will be doubts.

Your acting like youve never doubted your team to win. And of course Height was an issue, Yaya Toure and Busquets apart, they would be facing the likes of Vidic/Ferdinand/O'shea/C.Ronaldo/Berbatov in the air, which Man Utd never utilised, mainly because we are pretty poor in taking corners anyway.

Never mind the fact that Sylvinho was even being doubted by Pep to start, this is why he asked Keita to play Left Back.
at least someone understands :p

it wasn't even sure that Busquets would play, so it could have only been Piqué and Touré who were big enough players in the team
and yes, they're big, but they're hardly renowned for their heading ;)

ManU are a very strong team and were only missing Fletcher (as far as I knew)

so thats a reason to be certain that your team is going to lose?

because you had 3 players missing (a blessing in disguise especially in Alves case imo) and are not as big a team as Man Utd? crazy talk. As i mentioned before, i reckon most Barca fans were confident of victory in the same way Man Utd fans were of their team. I mean, how could they be anything but confident with the calibre of players in their side.

^ But the same goes two ways. You can be confident of your own players' calibre, but that also flies for the opposing side...

:x
I have no idea where you got the idea I thought ManU was a bigger team than Barcelona
you crazy :D

And I said before, most Barcelona fans weren't so confident!!!
People I know that actually live in Barcelona all told me how people were far from confident because of everything I've already said. But we were all happy we got so far and played so beautiful

and sure, I'm confident about my team, but with 3 very important players out (and no, Alves out was not a blessing in disguise as I've already explained before) it's a lot harder to be confident :p

all im saying is that your comment where you said "I was certain that Man Utd were going to win" is a crazy comment for a Barcelona fan to make.

and yes you can argue that Alves suspension was a blessing in disguise. He is weak defensively and thats not what you want when playing Manchester United. There is no question about his attacking strength though. Puyol played a very strong game defensively in his place. So did Pique and Toure. Marquez isnt a great centre half either. I wouldnt describe him as a very important player for Barcelona.

where are the other 2 posts I posted? :confuse:

Alves is far from weak defensively
Marquez has been a very good CB for us this season too and would obviously have started instead of Busquets

I'm done with this discussion tho', let's agree to disagree ;)
(and since I've watched every single game from Barcelona this season and you obviously haven't, let's just agree I'm right and you're wrong :D)

yes he kind of is tbh. great going forward but suspect defensively imo

and yes i have watched most Barcelona's league and Champions League games this season,

Obviously, if you were certain that Man Utd were going to win then it is you that is wrong.
