btw Pep's tactic was to move Messi into the middle almost playing as an attacking midfield, he said that was one of the reason they dominated the middle. Also when you have Xavi and Iniesta it makes it a tad easier.

I've said for awhile Xavi is the best centre mid in the world..(After Iniesta :D) and yeah Xavi is 29 lol. Also C.Ronaldo has done well in big games, he scored in the final last season...and yes missed a penalty...:wondering: Nevermind..

Guardiola's tactics were great. 4-3-3, with Messi and Henry wide so they had space to play one on one, and also giving space to Iniesta and Xavi to literally have fun in the midfield.

Ronaldo chokes in big games. People say that he's young and that he has time to evolve. Yes it's true. He's 24... But Xavi is 25 and I've never heard anyone say anything about how young he is.
Guardiola's tactics were great, yes, but they weren't what you described it :D
the way you describe them is the way it's always been ,and always will be :) it's the main formation

but what Guardiola did yesterday (and against Madrid) was amazing  he put Messi in the center, instead of out wide (because Messi had difficulties with Evra last time). Eto'o and Henry played way out wide, and with Messi in the center as an attacking midfielder, ManU's strongest point (their defence) didn't have anybody to mark! The central defenders didn't know what to do with theirselves :p

Messi in the center also made for an extra midfielder, which helped to dominate the midfield!

edit: lol Thug style already said this :p

I was more surprised with Ferguson's lack of response to Guardiola's move. Since Barca played without a real striker last night, he could've let one of his CB's in a more free role, to catch Messi earlier.

you are a Barca fan and you certain Man Utd would win? omg :(
yeah, I was so nervous and depressed before the game :p
we had a shambolic defense, no Alves, no Marquez, Sylvinho in LB (who I still like better than ABidal, but who's old and slow)..

Eto'o had scored 3 goals in 10(!) games

and ManU have an amazing defense and very good team, and only missed Fletcher!

not to mention that we are a little team (in height ;)) and that I was afraid we'd concede in dead ball situations!

But SAF never played to our weaknesses :p

Man United's weakest area is midfield especially the centre.
Giggs and Scholes are past it,
Anderson is young inexperienced and shouldn't have been thrown in against the best centre midfields in the world but saying that he was the only available grafter type as Fletcher was banned..
Carrick is good but he isn't yet the architectural playmaker that United need and he was chasing shadows all night and playing hollywood balls to no avail.

We also missed a Fletcher type player, whether Hargreaves or Fletcher can fill this role we will see. But if not I wouldn't mind getting someone like Senna or Cambiasso.

But as long as Xavi and Iniesta are on form, Barcelona and Spain too will be the team to beat.

the thing is, most Barca fans were confident that therir team would win. They have Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Henry, Puyol and Eto'o in their team for fucks sake. Man Utd arent as great as ye think or as they are hyped up to be. I dont understand this shit about not believing your team was going to win.

and whats height got to do with it? They have height where they needed it. at centre half and DM.

But when a team is missing 3 of their main players at the back of course there will be doubts, I don't know why your getting hyped on about it lol.

POD is right, Eto'o looked hopelessy out of form, Henry and Iniesta were doubtfult to even play, so you take half the team out of course there will be doubts.

Your acting like youve never doubted your team to win. And of course Height was an issue, Yaya Toure and Busquets apart, they would be facing the likes of Vidic/Ferdinand/O'shea/C.Ronaldo/Berbatov in the air, which Man Utd never utilised, mainly because we are pretty poor in taking corners anyway.

Never mind the fact that Sylvinho was even being doubted by Pep to start, this is why he asked Keita to play Left Back.

YYYYYYEEEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
never thought we'd win this thing  was certain ManU would win it
Treble baby :D
this is what i was referring to

Of course you can have doubts about certain things. e.g Barcelona might be weak in defense or if you are a man utd supporter you might have been worried about your midfield

but my point is, how can a Barcelona fan be certain that Man Utd were going to win? after how they have played this season and the quality they have in their team. I dont think you would have found many Barcelona fans who were certain that it was going to be a Man Utd victory.
