funny how i dont recall that. i doubt you even watched that video.
explain these two things to me then and maybe i'll listen. no further bullshity meat facts blah blah, just simple responses to these two points is all i am looking for.
a) carnivores have sharp teeth designed to rip flesh off animals. humans do not. i wonder why.
b) carnivorous animals have naturally fast digestive systems - this is so that the body doesn't absorb the harmful fats in the meat before they shit it out.
humans have a long digestive process. when humans eat meat they do not shit it out until it has taken enough time that the body has absorbed all the harmful fats which will build up and kill you.
riddle me that

riddle me that
A) Well that's simply because humans are not carnivores, and it was never suggested that humans were EVER carnivores. Humans are omnivores, which, if you are not already aware, means that the diet of humans consists of both plants and meats. During the evolutionary process humans had developed a jaw and teeth structure enabling them to consume both types of food. Furthermore, cooking with fire was a significant factor in altering the digestive, and oral factors attributed with the characteristics of an omnivore. Here's an extract from a pro-vegetarian website:
The short canines in humans are a functional consequence of the enlarged cranium and associated reduction of the size of the jaws. In primates, canines function as both defense weapons and visual threat devices. Interestingly, the primates with the largest canines (gorillas and gelada baboons) both have basically vegetarian diets. In archeological sites, broken human molars are most often confused with broken premolars and molars of pigs, a classic omnivore. On the other hand, some herbivores have well-developed incisors that are often mistaken for those of human teeth when found in archeological excavations.
And secondly,
Molars are broad flat teeth that are useful in grinding up tough fibrous
material - such as plants. Animals that are primarily plant eaters have
very large molars with six pairs (three uppers and three lowers) on each
side. Animals that do not specialize in eating plants tend to have a
reduced number of molars. Humans are equipped with six pairs of molars.
Although they are not very large, this would suggest that humans have the
ability to process fibrous plant food.
Premolars (bicuspids) are the slicing teeth. Mammals originally had eight
pairs of premolars, although most mammals alive today have fewer. Premolars
are the primary teeth used by meat eating specialists, and are frequently
missing in animals that specialize in plant foods. Humans have four pairs
of premolars, which suggests that humans have the ability to process animal
food.
Incisors are grasping teeth, that change shape depending upon how they are
used. The broad flat surfaces of human incisors is most associated with
animals that specialize in eating fruit.
This should be common knowledge. To even suggest that we shouldn't be eating meat by merely comparing our teeth structure to that of a carnivore is HIGHLY ludicrous, because humans were never carnivorous creatures.
In relation to your second point:
When humans switched to meat-eating, they triggered a genetic change that enabled better processing of fats, said Stanford, who has worked extensively with gerontologist Caleb Finch of USC.
"We have an obsession today with fat and cholesterol because we can go to the market and stuff ourselves with it," Stanford said. "But as a species we are relatively immune to the harmful effects of fat and cholesterol. Compared to the great apes, we can handle a diet that's high in fat and cholesterol, and the great apes cannot.
"Even though we have all these problems in terms of heart disease as we get older, if you give a gorilla a diet that a meat-loving man might eat in Western society, that gorilla will die when it's in its twenties; a normal life span might be 50. They just can't handle that kind of diet."

you say i don't acknowledge what is post is potentially subject to inconsistency, actually it's right on the mark. go ask ya dietician. in fact, go and ask jokerman.
Don't worry. I'm not gonna stoop to your level and use that obvious mistake to try make you appear stupid But for future reference, next time you want to take me up on my (obvious) typos, make sure your posts are flawless and don't contain any mistakes themselves, cos you'll look like a moron.

I agree. This shouldn't be a yes meat no meat issue. Meat is food. There's positive and negative things about it, as there are with many non-meat sources of food.
There’s an increasing amount of research that shows there are many health and weight reasons to choose a more vegetarian-based diet. One problem is that most meat eaters are not eating meat because they're health nuts. They're eating it because they grew up that way and like the taste and it's readily available. It's the center of their meals. And that's a probelm, healthwise. Grains or vegetables should be the center and meat should be a side dish, if you choose to eat meat.
However, I would recommend that you seek out more "cleaner" organic grass-fed forms of animal protein because feed-lot raised animals have more pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics in them. Many supermarkets sell grass-fed meat for a slightly higher cost. But your health is worth it, don’t you think? And the more demand there is for it, the lower the cost. It also sends a message to feed-lot owners to clean up their act. Even if you still eat meat at fast-food places, at least you’ll be lowering the amounts of these chemicals you’re exposed to when you use it for yourself.
I would suggest we all continue to educate ourselves on diet, the foods we eat and their impact on our health, the economy, and the environment.
