ok, im thinking about getting a laptop, most probably will get one, for college this fall.... i got a job that'll net me around 1500 between now and the end of august, which is enough to get a fully loaded laptop from gateway, HP, etc., or maybe a very good one from ibuypower or cyberpower....
my question?? well, another pre-reading.... when i go off, i know im gonna be watching tons of movies and music that i dl, but also with the past year or so, i kinda got back into gaming in general.. i kinda quit after the 8th grade in fear of looking nerdy, but whatever... im back in it now...
so while i probably wont be playing games that require powerhouses to play properly, like doom 3 ( or it was one back when it was rleased) and all those other games... i just wanna play new releases such as command and conquer tiberium wars, which really just requires an above average vid card....
right now my piece is a bout 4 years old and has a 32 mb vid card, expandable to 64 if needed..... not even by today's standards....
so i'll leave this desktop at home since it still works and whatnot, but for this laptop, my question is, is it worth spending the dough for a gaming laptop from cyberpower or ibuypower, or should i just stick to a basic one from HP and whatnot??? obviously gaming on a laptop is a little different from that on a desktop, but is it something that's detrimental to the gaming experience?? i mean, im gonna get about 2 gigs of ram, a core 2 duo 1.8 or maybe 2.0, and a 15.4 screen... will it really be that bad? and for RTS games, i'll use a mouse so games wont be too hard...
question: is the experience on a laptop all taht different than that on a dsktop?
