As we're closing in on the end of the season in most leagues, I thought we should have a thread about it :)

Well In England its a 2 horse race for the title, 3 pts between Man Utd and Chelsea.

Spain its a 3 horse race with Sevilla, Real Madrid and Barcelona going for the title...with possibly other teams joining like Zaragoza or Valencia

Italy..Inter are like 20 pts clear and still unbeaten..the only thing at the top half of the table is who is gonna finish 4th.

Bundesliga its between, Schalke, Werder Bremen and Stuttgart..Bayern may not even get into the CL

Portugal its between Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon

Holland- Ajax,PSV and AZ

And thats all i care about round Europe :)

Discuss.

English league 1 anyone?

Scunny have basically won it and it looks like we need to go through the playoffs...4 points in 3 games seems a bit much.

England: I still got this feeling that Chelsea are going to sneak the league, we shall see though.

Spain: I think Barca will win it, Real threw away a great opportunity last night.

Holland: I'm hoping AZ win it, but i can think it'll be Ajax that get it.

Germany: Schalke

Thuggy how could you forget about the Championship  I think Keane will complete the turnaround and win them automatic promotion.

Valencia beat Sevilla 2-0.So Valencia still in with a good chance of winning la liga.I think they will win it.

Roma thumped Sampdoria 4-0 today.Goes to show how poor Sampdoria are nowadays. The standard of football in Serie a nowadays is crap.Ronaldo got a cracker for Milan as well yesterday.

I think Chelsea will win the premiership.Man Utd are getting a few injuries now whereas Chelsea have nearly everyone fit.

Keane has done some job at Sunderland alright. They are my second team in England now. They have a load of Irish players,an irish manager, an Irish manager and will have an Irish sponsor next season.

According to Goal.com he is playing pretty well there. They have had a few articles praising his performances so far.But then again the serie a is shit standard nowadays and Goal.com hype up every Italian team and player so i wouldnt read too much into it.Parma look doomed though.Like Sampdoria they lost lots of their best players to bigger clubs in the past.

Serie A isn't as bad as people make it out really...obviously its not that strong but it will get better when Juventus comeback up next season.

Its probably more shocking how far Leeds United have fallen.Parma never won a whole lot. They had a lot of great players during the 90's like Veron, Crespo, Zola, Cannavaro, Thuram etc, but they only won a few cups like the Coppa Italia and UEFA Cup.(or Cup Winners Cup, cant remember)

Apart from Inter and AC Milan, this years serie a is pure shit.Im a big Sampdoria fan but there present team is poor. They would struggle to survive in England or Spain.

Just look at how Italian teams performed in Europe.Newcastle beat Palermo 1-0 away in the UEFA Cup.Newcastle were missing about 7 or 8 first team player.Palermo are 5th in Serie A.Look at how Man Utd trashed Roma who are second in Serie A.Inter who are runaway leaders lost to Valencia.

AC Milan are still a good side though.I think they are better than Inter.

^^ I think that it's more shocking how Nottingham Forrest fell! They are my 2nd fav team in England, and I'm amazed by the way they fell! Two time C.L. winners in Leage 2...

AZ for champions! Anything can happen really. I honestly can't tell who has the best chances now. PSV still has the lead by 2 points, but anything can happen in the last two matches. I hope AZ wins, though. It will break the 30-something year hegemony of the big three.

In Germany I hope Schalke wins it. They deserve it for a change. Either 04 or Werder.

England, Italy, France and Scotland are finished leagues. Spain is still very exciting. As long as Real doesn't sneak it I'm happy. My money is on the Catalunyans, though.

AC Milan haven't been that good this season only recently have they played more consistantly, They were pretty much played off the park by Roma, but sneaked a draw. The missed chances by Roma were shocking. Roma have been pretty good this season, one thrashing does not make them a bad team.

AC Milan need to play Gourcoff and not Seedorf, minus the game he had vs Bayern, he's been the worst player in midfield for AC.

and Inter did get knocked out by Valencia but hardly 'lost' two draws and they went out. Also alot of Inter players have said that the Scudetto is more important than the league and going the whole season unbeaten and accumalting 100pts is their main target.

But apart from AC Milan and Inter what have you?.The likes of Lazio and Roma are mediocre teams now.I think AC Milan havent bothered for most of the Serie a this season because of their points deduction.I think their main aim is the Champions League.

I never rated Seedorf either. He played well against Bayern.I could never understand why managers rate him so highly.I guess they see something we dont.He was class when he played for Ajax and Sampdoria though.
