What network are you on?

The top range phones that are out or about to launch here in the UK would be the Samsung Galaxy S2, the LG Optimus 2X, the HTC Sensation, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc....
I'm currently on Orange but I wouldn't hesitate to change networks if it meant getting a good phone \ deal. I've had a little play with the initial Galaxy phone and I liked it despite it being relatively huge. But I presume all these new smart phones are big incorporating large screens?

Oh man, call me a noob but I played with Android 3.0 today, on that Asus transformer tablet.
That thing is so cool, I love the user interface on Android 3.0. Actually I started wanting a tablet. I know that I wouldn't find any reasonable use for it but it's just cool, lol. Much, much cooler than the original Ipad.
Saying this I played with the latest Ipad too and I find the device itself to be more stylish and just looking cooler than any other tablet that I tried, but the user interface didn't change much and saying that I didn't like it.
I'd like a device that looks like the new Ipad with Android 3.0 on it though.

Google IO starts tomorrow, bitches.

And it's pretty much gonna be ALL about Android from what I hear.
Yup, I'm organizing the Google I/O extended here in Warsaw, at my university. We're going to stream the original event and have people from Google Poland and local GTUG speak and discuss things here. Except all of that oh man I'm looking forward to getting cool Google merchandise :p

First things first. I guess there rolling out the music service, giving us room for 20,000 songs to stream, damn. Xoom owners will be the first to get it, nice

Fuck. Too much awesomeness to recount.

Android@Home stole the show. Fuck, that shit is incredible.

Read the recap:

http://www.bgr.com/2011/05/10/live-from-the-google-io-2011-keynote/

side note - I called it that Joe Britt and Matt Hershenson would be headed to Android. For anyone that doesn't know, the original 4 people that founded Danger Inc and created the Hiptop/Sidekick back in the early 00's was Andy Rubin, Matias Duarte, Joe Britt and and Matt Hershenson. Andy obviously left Danger to found Android back in 2003, Matias went to Helio and then Palm, and is now the key UI guy for Android who designed Honeycomb, and now Joe and Matt are there too, which fucking rocks.

All 4 of those guys have always been more interesting to me than the likes of Steve Jobs or even the Google heads Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They all have a history of making cool shit, wherever they're at.

Just seen this on engadget.

I am very keen on home automation, but haven't seen anything I'm willing to invest in. Some good shit so far. Music, Movies, Ice Cream, Google TV. All very exciting.

Was gonna post on my facebook "Time for you Iphone losers to get an android phone". But I am scared of the iphone massives.

Post it anyway Pittsey. LOL.

I think the unification of Android across devices in Ice Cream Sandwich is very cool. That and the announcement that they've formed a union in order to ensure that devices get updates to the latest release in a timely fashion, should solve the fragmentation issues that some people love to complain about.

Also, USB hosting? That's fucking EPIC. So basically any USB device can be plugged in to Android and just work. That's a big deal. I mean, pretty much everybody has a whole host of USB devices already, from keyboards to webcams and all kinds of peripherals. I have USB audio interfaces, microphones, huge fucking hard drives and all kinds of shit. There's so much potential there.

Google Music - this is just the start. I have a feeling they have some BIG plans for it. Movie rentals is fucking cool too.

That tech demo they did with holding the NFC CD's to the speakers and it automatically added the music to Google Music and started playing it on the stereo was fucking epic. It'll be a while before there's some real world usage of this stuff, but just knowing it's in development is exciting. That's the future, that kinda stuff.

finally. been weaiting for google music to come out. i hope this thing becomes huge and has people switching over. i want to share more playlists with my friends like spotify does. but i only have like 10 people on there, 4 of which i regularly talk to (in real life) and then casey, so about 5 in total.

i also hope that google gives us more space for picasa. i'd love it if i could share my email storage with picasa. because there's no way im going to use 7GB of email storage anytime soon. but the 1GB is not enough. i dont need it urgently to pay a subscription fee, but if more space is there then i'll make use of it.

Soo.. WOW.

No Galaxy Tab for us :( We were mad jealous haha. But I got myself a lot of cool Google stuff. A lot of T-shirts (Google Extended ones though), a backpack, Google Extended laptop bag, some stickers, etc etc. and GTUG stuff like Tshirts too. Cool.
Also I believe that we'll be shown somewhere on Google's site. We were watching but were recorded live at the same time too.
