In my books Kaka's second yellow was not justified, but I'm not a referee. I think (don't know if it's the case with bobby) that having watched the physicality of the premier league for nigh on 12 years, that this has influenced me on judging what warrants a yellow card. Taking consistency into account, considering the referee who sent off Kaka, if we applied his standards across an average premier league weekend then a lot of games would finish with about 2 players on the pitch.

Huh... I thought that Gourcuff's red card was a tad harsh... I would have gave him a reddish yellow card, but not a straight Red...

Anyway, Kaka's 2nd yellow was unjustified, but he's to blame for what he did a minute just before the red card incident when he came out of nowhere and started pushing Ivorians around. I can understand why the ref did not give him benefit of the doubt.

But then again, it was not a red...

He brought it upon himself.

Also, the French are way too philosophic all the time... You sucked, period. No need to talk about the "truth" to the "French people" who cheered for South Africa in the middle of Paris...

French footy fans suck. As a matter of fact, they do not exist. They start cheering for France when they get to the Quarter-Finals, before that, they usually don't know that there is a World Cup or an Euro going on.

They should stick with rugby, cheese and bad porn.

Fellas, fellas, i think you're missing my point. It wasn't so much the jab that Kaka gave but about the moment and situation he made it in. Even if he was in a challenge it could've been a yellow, but then the move could always have been part of your physical struggle and not specifically intended to hit your opponent.

The jab Kaka gave couldn't have had any other reason than to hit Keita. It's as simple as that. That's the crux that makes it an undeniable yellow card.

If i misunderstood and English prem league players jab each other all the time with no ball around, then yes, lol, the matches should end with one team being no longer able to field 7 players. It's as simple as that. You should keep your hands off your opponent during "dead" moments (not strictly "dead-dead" but you get my point).

The second yellow for Kaka was not correct and the Gourcuff elbow didnt deserve a red either.

That being said, there is no way we will not reach the next round tonight. Ok, maybe if the referee will fuck it up again.

Gourcuff made the elbow of the week. You're an idiot if you don't think it was a correct decision. Truly an idiot.

Forza Ghana. I hope you choke on your bratwurst.

You are simply wrong.

What De Rossi did in 06 against the US at the WC, that was clearly an elbow. What Gourcuff did was jumping into the ball with his arm up high. Yellow, yeah. No red.

So all the refs, pundits, Fifa, etc are wrong but Seb is right?

Don't be delusional.

Also, you're again contradicting yourself. Jumping into the ball with his arm high and his elbow out.

Guess what colour card that is. Let me give you a hint. It's not yellow.

The same thing happened when England played Croatia this recent qualifying. Robert Kovac jumped with his arm up higher and it hit Joe Cole. He got a straight red even if there was no malice to it. It cost us the match.

On a side note, lmfao @ Slovenia. USA scores with like a minute left. They make it to the next round, Slovenia doesn't.

I dont really blame you though, you are not properly playing football yourself.

Actually, if Ghana get second place they're up against USA. I fancy those chances!

So, Germany needs to win tonight and Serbia and Australia to draw, right?

That would see Germany as #1 and Ghana as #2.

^You are.

Ghana is on 4, Serbia and Germany on 3 and Aussies on 1 point. With Ghana on +1, Serbia on 0, Germany on +3 and Australia on -4.

Aussies have it very difficult, though. Must be a near miracle for them to progress.
