Oh brother.
nice rebuttle

Earlier versions? Is it a similar virus, or is it the same virus only evolved?
it evolved to another form, its not that hard to understand

Spanish flu evolved from birds to humans.
Asian flu evolved from birds to humans
H1N2 evolved from birds to pigs to humans

Well go take up the "adaptation and evolution are the same thing", misunderstanding up with webster.
the websters dictionary website entry for adaptation it has a link that says this

Adaptation describes the process whereby an organism adapts to, or learns to survive in, its environment. The process is crucial to natural selection, enabling those organisms or species best suited to a particular environment to survive. Ethologists, scientists who study the behavior of animals in their natural habitats from an evolutionary perspective, document adaptive behavior.

Duh, what was I thinking of course your guys definition of those words are correct, I was mistaken to consult the english language.
And I didnt say they didnt have anything to do with each other, I said they are not the same thing. Coyotes are adapting to live in cities in some areas, by where they live and find food. If they are evolving maybe we should be on the lookout for the coyote with a debit card for an arm.

And I suppose a brain freeze is a leftover responce from us eating to much in the ice age. Give me a break.
And I never said anything about not needing a nose.
evolution is a lot of things, its not just apes and humans with a common ancestry. Pick up a book and read up on it sometime

I'm not wasting time to reply on your nittybitting about word definitions. That's pathetic.

Indeed, I brought the nose up.

Not hard to understand, but very hard to prove apparently.

Ill have to do some looking before I can comment on that

And... so, they say adaptation is important to the theory of evolution which has yet to be proven true.

It isnt alot of things too, Like proven. These books are in the fiction section right?

Indeed, but its important to state that I'm not the one who said that 2 different words with 2 different meaning, did infact mean the same thing. I was simply correcting that, then you guys started to argue it. thats pathetic

Goosebumps on our skin is useless because it can't create any "pockets" of air when there is no hair to hold the air/heat. Please tell me how it would create insulation when there is nothing to hold the hot air?

Not hard to understand, but very hard to prove apparently.
do you read at all?

http://www.boston.com/news/world/as...tated_in_indonesia_no_more_transmissible_who/

GENEVA/JAKARTA (Reuters) - The H5N1 bird flu virus mutated somewhat among Indonesians in the largest known human cluster, but did not evolve into a more transmissible form, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday.

Malik Peiris, a leading H5N1 expert from Hong Kong, told reporters on the sidelines of a bird flu experts' meeting in Jakarta that it was common for the influenza virus to mutate.

"Influenza viruses always mutate. That's of course the reason why people are concerned that as we go on longer and longer the virus may change to become more transmissible. But that does not happen so far."

The mutated virus was detected in samples taken from the last two victims in the cluster -- a son who transmitted it to his father -- providing the clearest proof yet of human to human transmission, Cheng said.

even creationists know that it came from other animals, denying it is denying everything we know about medical science

Is that what you're going to reply with now? An argument consisting of "Well its not proven therefore its wrong"?

Indeed, but its important to state that I'm not the one who said that 2 different words with 2 different meaning, did infact mean the same thing. I was simply correcting that, then you guys started to argue it. thats pathetic
Evolution and Adaptation go hand in hand, if you want to argue the semantics of it then we'll continue it

It all started from when I stated that the Blind Cave Fish lost its eyes was evolution, and he said it was adaption. I then said that adaption was evolution and bunch of replies later we're here

In that case, you're assuming that those two words only have one meaning. They don't. Evolution happens through adaptation, on multiple levels, regardless of the words' own strict definitions. There's little to correct here.

As I posted there is oil that is secreted through the follicles which creates the insulation, not the hair itself.

That says mutating, not evolving. it was that word that I was questioning. I wouldnt say that a virus evolved until it sprouted chicken legs and started chasing and infecting people.

I just dont want anyone to use somthing that isnt proven as evidence for anything. Im not saying its wrong because it isnt proven (even if that is what I think).

If evolution could happen, then I would agree they would go hand in hand.

I don't know about you, but when i get goosebumps, oil doesn't come out, infact its quite dry. Also the only oil that secretes from our skin keeps our skin from drying, it has no use for insulation.

That says mutating, not evolving. it was that word that I was questioning. I wouldnt say that a virus evolved until it sprouted chicken legs and started chasing and infecting people.
Once again you prove to me you don't know what evolution is.

you think the bible is true fact when it can't be proven either

If evolution could happen, then I would agree they would go hand in hand.
yet you believe in adaption and mutations, which are part of evolution?

You have no fucking clue, do you? You're a creationist of the worst kind. The one that tries to justify it's unscientific views with semi-scientific arguments.

Welcome to Ignore. Nothing personal, I just loathe your kind.

I don't loathe him for being religious or a creationist. I loathe the semi-scientific creationists that only use scientific arguments when it suits them. Any argument that doesn't suit them isn't accepted. Any that does is ok. There is no logic, there is no standard of judgement thats used to determine which arguments are valid and not. It's done on a whim when it fits his story.

The thing that that makes science so great, self reflection and criticism, is absent in their theories, statements and in this case, posts. Their "intelligent design" bullshittism based on whimsical scientific bits is what pisses me off. Even more so when the person or persons in question seem not to be able to comprehend, or dont want to comprehend, even the most basic of fucking principles because doing so would tumble over their stupid theories.

That's why I loathe them. I don't mind people being a creationists, but then don't go around using "scientific" arguments (either false theories or parts of theories brutally taken out of context) to prove that you're right.

i just wanna drop my random two cents into the hobo's coin jar...

aight, so for those of you that dont know, im an indian hindu....so today on the indian news channel they were showing several of our gods in various temples throughout india, where the statues of the gods were actually drinking milk from the worshippers that offered it to them...i believe this happened only once before, and they say that you knows its gonna happen when the Ganges river, where people shower, actually starts tasting sweet...so yeah, someone's been drinking that water and so now the gods are supposedly drinking milk out of spoons when offered them...

also, my mom, my sister and i tried this in our house....i really dont know what to say...at first we thought that it was actually drinking it from us as well, but then we noticed that some of the milk would hit the mouth and it looked like it was going in, but then, for some reason, the milk would come off the spoon in drops and just make a milk puddle underneath the statue...so i dunno what to believe.... i mean, a couple million people in india cant be lying, but it seems kinda odd....

and these are metal statues, btw, not clay or dirt or anything that might just be absorbing the milk...

I remember watching something on the Discovery Channel about this. Indian scientists went to investigate this so they got milk and added dye to it. When they put a spoon of this milk to the statue the milk disappeared, but it ran down the statues front side. Ganges river becoming sweet? Maybe it could be a surge of lead in the water, or some sort of soap being used by people washing their clothes. I've never been to india so I don't know what factors that can affect the water ganges so its just speculation

edit: found this site http://theory.tifr.res.in/bombay/leisure/trivia/ganapati-milk.html

Laskar, a student of physics, explained the phenomenon as being a combination of surface tension, capillary action and syphoning. It can be easily replicated, he said, with clay or stone images or even plastic and metal jugs with a snout.

When the surface of the liquid touches the protruding tip of any surface, capillary action lifts the liquid, with the surface of the idol or any other object acting as the larger end of syphon. The surface tension allows the liquid to flow freely in a particular direction. This explanation was confirmed by the various scientists we spoke to.

Supposedly, but adaptation and mutation, are part of an already existing form, it is the same information, being mixed around. Evolution is new information being created.

Have you read any of this thread?? We covered alot of what is bothering you, maybe you should re-read. Oh, and sorry to be the one to burst your bubble, but you say I know nothing about evolution but in this post it is crystal clear that you know absolutely nothing about creationism.
