Really surprised, didn't think anyone one here would be following the tournament. It gets very little publicity abroad besides for the fact that premiership teams will lose some of their players. E.g. Drogba

In the last 12 minutes Mali managed to get a draw.

It's the same sentiment when I discuss it with my friends. We're kind of wondering why the African representatives are not looking up to par for the big one.

Yeah, can't believe it. They're going to get mauled if they show up like this at the WC.

From the current show they have put on, I couldn't agree more.

I watched some of Egypt v Nigeria. Egypt won 3-1. after watching this, Egypt's performances in the confederations cup and Algeria losing 3-0 to Malawi i am amazed at how Algeria beat Egypt to qualify for the WC. Egypt look a much superior team.

Nigeria got humbled. Again, a team that's supposed to be in the world cup?? Even Cameroon lost their home opener. Good grief.

You gotta be a football addict to watch the Africa Cup.

Or quite simply, an African?

It's not a bad tournament so far. Plenty of goals flying in. Bad defense or great offense? I'll let you decide.

For the record: I just want to say that the Kenyan football team is dismal. They didn't even qualify for this tournament.

I'm expecting a World Cup when the bigger nations like in 2002 fail against the lesser teams.

(fyi I just won the World Cup with Mexico on fm2010, beat Germania in the final) Hurrah!

Muntari and Appiah are injured and Essien only came on as a sub.

Ivory Coast played well though and Eboue got sent off half way through the second half when the score was 1-0 to Ivory Coast

btw it was 3-1 not 3-0. Ghana scored at the very end.

Algeria are a completely different team to what i saw in the first game but Ivory Coast should have won in normal times. Their goalkeeper is terrible.

What a great game that was, Keita's goal was unbelieveable. Glad that Bougherra and Algeria are through, even though it means he misses more domestic games.
