I so wanted Beasley' goal to count, damn offsides. US looked better but still didn't look that great. I hope they make it to the second round just so they can show the world how good of a team they can be. They are still letting the US down with that lethargic type of play.

Italy could beat Czech. I wasn't impressed with them at all in their game today.

And all the Italy players play together. There's a lot more chemistry there.

As bad as refs have been in this tournament,both red cards i thought were good calls.I can't believe commentator said Mastreoni touched the ball.He did not touch the ball.He jumped right in Pirlo's ankles.Thats a red card no questions asked.

italy - US was the funniest game i've seen in years. it had nothing to do with football :laugh:

Italy lacked determination and effort. Plus they played shite. So many offsides it wasn't even funny, most were real offsides too, not bad ref calls.

USA worked like posthorses. Deserved draw. It's obvious what their drawbacks are, though. They are clumsy. And although I agree that most refs this WC have been handing out cards way too esily, these 3 reds were completely justified. The elbow and tackle by the numbers 4 can go right into the referee manual as examples of dangerous play and an immediate red. The second yellow by Pope was justified as well. Stupid, ungainly challenge.


ghana - czechs was cool. normally i'd support the czechs cos i like their play, but they sucked today. Ghana played classic pressure football, and the Czech counters weren't convincing. They also lacked proper defense. Granted, they missed Koller and Baros, but a team should be able to win without em.

Where Ghana especially impressed me was their professional play. They kept their heads cool, didn't do stupid things and tried to find the second goal. :thumb:
