World Cup 2006

A bit late but I think Germany were lucky they were playing poor opposition. Two great longrange goals were scored and two clinical finishes from Wanchope. Even though the Germans controlled most of the game they would have been beaten by a better team.

I was surprised by Ecuador, having not seen them play that much. Thought the were very professional, controlled the game well, were good on the ball and were efficient moving forward. Poland must be devastated but they were outplayed by a better team. I think both of these teams though (if Poland don't take the defeat too badly) could cause serious problems for Germany (although they have Ballack back for the next game).

For tomorrows games I think Argentina (game of the day from a neutrals perspective), England and Sweden will be victorious. I'm wetting myself in anticipation.

Poland disappointed, Ecuador surprised with clean, efficient football. Especially Ecuador's defense impressed me. Didn't give an inch of ground near the box. Their switch was fast and the goals were good. Not too many mistakes on the field play.

Poland just, didn't really *do* anything. Outclassed on every front.

Poland cant play as a team. Individual players are good, but they cant pass or nothin'. Defence was terrible too, dont even get me started on Poland's defence. Im predicting a 4-0 loss against germany next week.

In the first half Poland wanted to attack to fast. They didn't have the patience to controll the match. Ecuadors midfield was strong. From the 75th minute Poland was a lot better. They just forgot to score. They should've won. Ecuador completely lost it towards the end of the match.

The defence of Germany showed they ain't gonna get to the final. Mertesacker and Metzelder are really bad, pffff. BeReal, you really ain't got nothing better???
Congratulations anyway, Holland still gotta win their first match, and that aint gonna be easy. Though if you're real p ) you gotta admit Holland got more potential when they survive this fase.

i wouldn't be too quick to judge the germans, they didn't play well, and they had horrible defense, but knowing that it's the first game of the WC, and they are playing at home under pressure, and without Ballack, i think the game was fair.

poland who were very unlucky against Ecuador. Poland have to beat the ger in order to have a fair chance of qualifying, so they are gonna bring it.

The biggest weakness in the England team is Sven. Taking Owen off, if he was'nt injured, was a stupid move. It meant we had Peter Crouch up front on his own, heading the ball to nobody.
