I'll have an opportunity to play Wii soon so i'll check it out. Of course i won't buy PS3 before checking it too. I can't really compare systems without playing them before. I'm in good situation because my mother's friend's husband (lol sounds stupid i know:p ) is Japanese and he's totally into video games. Everytime he goes to Japan he brings something new. He gave me a brand new NES when i was a kid  Now he'll be getting Wii and next time (hopefully) Ps3.

You lucky ass! And the PS3 will be cheaper in Japan, too.

Have an open mind when you try it out. I'm telling you now, you're gonna look back at this thread and be like wtf! It's so sleek and smooth when you play. The controller is something else. I feel like I've been waiting for a system like this to come out for years. I was playing Boxing last night and kicked this guy's ass to when the fucking dinosaurs were alive (I'm exaggerating, but I did kick his ass).
The Wii-remote is like a dream come true, man. It was made with hardcore gamers in mind, and you can feel it when you play. Sick. :p

Masta, when you are going to try the PS3, bring your credit card. Sony is actually going to CHARGE people to try it. Gay, I know, but like I said...they want to milk us for all we're worth, and then some.

Oh, one more thing. Do you like Call of Duty games? The Wii version is the most realistic than PS3 and 360 according to Gamespot.com.
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/...;action;1&om_act=convert&click=topslot&page=2

The Wii version will have scaled-down visuals but more realistic, motion-based controls to make up for it.

"There are a few more motion controls available on the Wii. Thrusting the remote outward will perform your melee attack, while twisting it to the sides will make you lean. Finally, you can switch weapons by flicking the nunchuk to the side or throw a grenade by moving it in a tossing motion. The Wii level we played was Crossroads, which featured more-typical house-to-house fighting through a ruined, bombed-out village. When we entered one doorway, we engaged in one of Call of Duty 3's scripted hand-to-hand combat sequences, which have you struggling with an enemy soldier in a cinematic fashion. When we last saw one of these minigames on the Xbox 360, we had to merely hit the right buttons at the right time to succeed, but on the Wii, you'll actually have to hold the controllers out in front of you in a facsimile of the onscreen action and struggle as instructed by the game to save your skin and take down the bad guy.

Aside from this difference, the game played like you'd expect. All the core mechanics are the same here as in the PS3 and 360 versions--the difference is merely in how you interface with the game. Luckily, horizontal and vertical sensitivity adjustments were available in the build we played, so we could fine-tune the aiming to our liking, and afterward, we found the actual shooting gameplay to be more satisfying and skill-based than when played with a standard analog thumb stick. With the more flexible aiming, it became more realistic to switch to iron sights and squeeze off a quick headshot to take out that soldier just barely peeking over the barrier. We're looking forward to getting more time with this and other Wii games to get a better feel for this sort of unique FPS gameplay, which seems to approximate the feel of mouse aiming on the PC."

Nintendo lost me years ago when they couldnt comphrehend switching to discs instead of cartridges
Why? Because discs look cooler? Cartridges have no loading time and are harder to damage.

Cartridges > Your favorite rapper

lol Kam...some people just pick on the little things that don't make a difference because they don't know what else to say. At least masta actually contributed to the thread lol. :thumb:

Cartridges don't have loading times but the audio on them suck and costed Nintendo a hell of alot more than pressing a CD.

CD > Cart

Btw i've never had to blow on a CD to make it work (no homo).

It's more expensive to copy cartridges :D And it's really cheap to download a game and just burn it to cd ;)
If it comes to small disks they usually have smaller capacity

Small disks = lower cost, less load time. Large disk space won't help anything, there are a TON of games that can fill up a dvd but suck balls. Have fun copying blue-rays, the burner itself would cost 1000 bucks+ and the disks would cost 30-50 bucks each. Might as well buy the game

the same thing happened when DVDs first came out and now look how cheap they are.

You're wrong sir. Blu-ray recorders prices start from 500$. My friend (photograph having many many pics needing a lot of space) bought one for about 350$. Disks are 100$ for 5 50gb disks or 120$ for 5 bd-rw (Verbatim of course). Tdk 200gb costs 150$ for 1 cd now. At the end of 2007 they'll cost the same as dvds now because they aren't much more expensive to make. So even now it's a good good thing to have for some people.

Small disks aren't faster at all. They load a bit faster but are too small to contain advanced games.

How much do BD computer recorders cost?
As of August 2006, Pioneer, Panasonic, and Sony are shipping their BD computer recorders under their own brand names or integrated in various aftermarket kits with U.S. suggested retail prices ranging from $750 to $995 for internal models and $999 to $1,595 for external versions. Philips, Hitachi-LG, and Plextor have also disclosed plans to offer recorders but prices have yet to be announced.
Unless prices had a huge sudden drop over a 2 month period, either you or your friend are lying.

How much do blank BD discs cost?
As of August 2006, TDK, Panasonic, Sony, Verbatim, Imation, Memorex, Philips, and Fuji have announced U.S. suggested retail prices for individually packaged blank 12 cm discs. They range from $18-$20 (SL) and $43-$48 (DL) each for BD-R and $24-$30 (SL) to $58-$60 (DL) each for BD-RE.
Still expensive as shit for a duel layer disk.

so...they're faster. Resident Evil 4 contained more information and higher textures than the PS2 version, so the small disk can contain advanced games

LOL B.S, especially that

The man's right about Resident Evil 4. That game was one of the top 5 best looking games of last generation and it was released on the Gamecube. It was lengthy and the gameplay was awesome. Things, in terms of visuals, had to be taken out for the PS2 version because the PS2 was not as advanced as the GC was, but that's ok. The game was still great. The Wii uses 8.5GB DVD's which is about 7 times what the Gamecube used for Resident Evil 4. It's more than enough. Blu-Ray is ahead of its time and like every other Sony format...it isn't going to do as well as Sony thinks. It might, because they are forcing people to get it with the PS3...but it isn't likely. Lately Sony hasn't been doing so great and as of now (I'm not saying never), it doesn't look like Blu-Ray is going far. HD-DVD's are the future right now, but like HD TV's, will not be standard for a long time. VHS was around for a very, very long time before DVD's became the norm. DVD's aren't dead yet, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Nintendo is sticking with the times and that's the way to go. :thumb: Cheaper, quicker, easier.

And unlike the PS3 and 360, the Wii will have little to zero load times on games, which is awesome, because we shouldn't have to WAIT to watch a scene in a game, to walk into another room, to get to the next level or whatever. They are meeting our needs as gamers...and I like that.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima intends to add tilt functions to Metal Gear Solid 4 but said he would rather work on Nintendo Wii. "As a game designer, it really is the game hardware that I want to work most on", Kojima said.
