What is your idea of the afterlife?

Do you think when you die, thats it???? I mean that just kinda sucks to think everything just ceases to exist when you die. What the hell was the purpose of all this in that case

If you dont believe that, then what do you think "Heaven" is...Im not sure but sometimes I wonder if heaven is different for everyone. I think that Heaven for me would be live out a great time in my life again. I would even like to live out my life over and have the opportunity to make different decisions and see where it took me...

Do you guys believe in reincarnation? Like maybe I've lived out my life before but didnt get it right so I keep havin to live it out over and over till I get something right that I am not even aware of...

What would be the purpose of all this if we didn't cease to exist when we die? Why are we alive here and now if we're, like, "alive" after we "die?"

I'm sure we'd all like to believe that. Like I said, if this life were a test it would be grossly unfair.

when you die you go ta heaven or hell.........in heaven you will have alot of things or not as much as others depending how good of a christian you were...........and if your not a christian and you go ta hell then everything that you fear all of your worse nightmares will be down there........you will burn forever and there's nothing you can do........your entitled to your opinion about rencarnation and all that but there is only 1 truth and i speak of it

yea i wonder about aborted babies who were already fetus's upon being aborted, children who were raped and killed..... like what happens to them, when you think of heaven at what point do you picture yourself there....are you an older man, a young man, this is what makes me believe that heaven is when you are given the opportunity to choose the greatest time in your life...i doubt an old man with alzheimers or cancer is going to want to live out his eternal life an old man ....sometimes its too much to even think about because theres just so many questions which cannot be answered and dont make sense.

in islam if a child died at birth he or she will no doubt go to heaven since that child was born sin free according to islamic teachings, however in christianity everyone is born in sin and if a child died at birth he/she is foredoomed to hell according to christian priciples, no offence to the christians on this board and if im wrong plz correct me

so a buddhist monk who has done nothing wrong in life and tried his best to be the best person he could be inside and out is going to "burn in hell forever" because he wasnt baptised huh? Sorry i just dont believe that. G-d is supposed to be forgiving. For someone who didnt do anything wrong in their life, but was born into a life where they were raised by relatives who didnt believe in Christ, i find it hard to accept their going to burn.

In Islam do you grow in heaven? When you think of heaven you think of eternally living out the days as you were when you died...i dont know what im gettin at.

Theres a huge conflict between religion & science when it comes to this. I dont know what happens to u when u die. Whether ur soul goes to heaven, or u wander the earth as a ghost or u jus shut off and thas it. No one knows. But isnt it hard to believe souls exist when a humans character & personality is created thru adapting to the environment & what u are taught? Is that who u are cuz thas what god made u or what u were made into. Its hard. Cuz if souls dont exist then how do u go to heaven. No one knows, u mite be atheist then u get shot down.. u go numb then die. And u feel urself rise and go into the clouds and u be like wtf? lol. no one knows. its HARD. i believe in god but its hard to believe in a heaven of eternal life n happiness.

this topic is crazy for me, like cool the feeling that there may be nothing haunts my dreams and it scares me.
