500 is a lot different from a couple or a dozen, where their opinions can be simply put down to the stresses of the job. Unless u're going to say they are all suffering from mass hysteria, u cant deny that there must be a reason why they have decided to take this stance.

I doubt they have any love for the Palestinian cause, especially if they have been serving on the frontline. But rather their concsience is refusing to let them carry on. Does this make it true, well their is a saying "there's no smoke without fire" and 500 IDF soldiers and the entire Palestinan peoples is a lotta smoke.

These soldiers are standing up for what they believe in. They are goin against their armys orders, Which is unusual for Israeli soldiers, but in this case they have been brave enough to make that decision
The KKK are simply marching in accordance with their racist views, which is nothing unusual.
What the Israelis are doing on the other hand is unexpected and therefore stands out more than your KKK example. And 500 is alot of people. Expect more to follow, if they are brave enough to speak against Israel that is.

I think the only cowards are the soldiers who stay in the occupied land and persecute innocent palestinians. They are the true coward. It takes someone brave to walk away and stand up for what they believe in, which is what these soldiers have done. They are much braver then the occupying Soldiers. Much respect to them. :thumb:

This happens once in awhile. These reservists (incorrectly) believe that peace could be achieved if only the occupation of the territories stopped.

When a few dozen Israeli air force reserves criticized the policy of targetted strikes, that was different in that the strikes can and often do maim or kill unarmed combatants.

But these people are simply a tiny minority who disapprove of the Israeli stance vis-a-vis the Palestinians. You call it courageous. I call it ignorant of reality.

The reality is that palestinains are being treated unfairly. These soldiers believe that what the Israelis are doing is immoral and not in the interest of humanity. Thus through their first hand view of the situation they have decided to act. What they are doing is viewed as bad by alot of Israelis. But they are doing this in order to stand up for what they believe in. To call them ignorant , to me shows your ignorance. You are ignoring the fact that these people know alot more about the situation then you or me, they are living in that enviroment. How can they be ignorant, they are making a brave decision and deserved to be called courageous.

I dont think that this means shit to Hamas, al Jabha or other military groups.To them, they're still the IDF, and they're still Israelis.Hamas considers every Israeli a soldier of occupation, those reservists view dont count for shit, if they had the chance to take them out, they'd do it in no time.

Because you agree with them. What about the majority of Israeli soldiers who do support Israel's actions? They know a lot more about the situation than you or me. They have made a brave decision and deserve to be called courageous.

So...can one group of soldiers who have first hand experience be ignorant or not?
