The Derek Jeter for MVP thread

#41
The only reason you picking on Jeter as MVP is because of you're ridiculous Yankee pride.Every year has been at least one Yankee to have MVP type a season.Whether it was Jiambi,Sheffield or A-Rod.But this year those guys aren't performing like MVP so what you do,you turn to next closest Yankee that you think could be MVP.Because you have to have a MVP representing from Yankees. But you won't admit that Jeter isn't matching Ortiz's performance.Jeter is having great season. In fact he had better season before then what hes having now if you look at stats. In 99, .349 24 102 and he didn't win MVP then.

Last year's performance will be in Ortiz's advantage to be nominated as MVP.

true....this year, jeter is supposed to set career records save for one or two categories....he's having an outstanding year...but i think ortiz has everyone's vote of confidence....if i were to choose between jeter and ortiz, i think i'd still take ortiz since he has hit 300 or close to it, which is unheard of if you hit 50 dingers and 160 ribbies.....only manny can do that....

Ortiz been coming through in clutch all season long and nobody been saying anything about that. Now Jeter comes through and you speaking out. What, you gonna start making new posts everytime Jeter gets a clutch hit.

yeah, but you left this thread for about a week..whatever the reason may be, you posted after that double header last night in which jeter did pretty well....but i think damon was clutch last night...really did his team in the ass, big time...

Listen bank, you're starting to bordom me.You're sounding like a little kid.You keep fighting back and forth.Like i said, the only reason you draging Jeter into MVP conversation is because he has Yankee stripes. You know it too.Why need to be stubborn. You know it wont happend and even it will it wont be right.Yes Jeter is a great player and a cluth player and ok he does deserve time to be talked about as MVP.But at the end of the day its Ortiz. Its not even close. It won't be right not to give him an MVP.Guy is a monster. Most feared player.

thats because some of us have full time jobs that don't allow us to post on 2pacboard every hour

my next paycheck will be for working 110.9 hours over 2 weeks, that kinda kills my free post time

just a random question...can a pitcher win mvp??? or is the cy young it?
they CAN win mvp, but ever since the cy young award was created it became rare

clemens won both MVP and Cy Young in 86 for example

im sure its college money or something.....its not his career...

and now that i think of it, what about the NL mvp? i think pujols is having a good, but quiet year...im thinkin maybe beltran....NL's really weak...

In NL i think either Pujols or Beltran or David Wright.Others,Howard from Pillies if they make playoffs.Same with Berkman. But i doubt it.I think it will come down to between Pujols and Beltran.Pujols should have won easly the way he started but then injury and he kinda got quiet.I want Beltran to win,if not Pujols.

Comeback player at least should go to Beltran.

^^ so what the hell are we talking about now?

and yeah, i forgot about howard and berkman...maybe i havent watched ESPN all summer, but it seems that the NL is getting gyped....berkman is quietly having an amazing year as is howard...so is beltran...but all we hear about is liriano, johan, thome and arod sucking...but then again, giambi and morneau are quietly having good years too...maybe im not watching espn..that's why...

Its not that NL is getting gyped.NL has just as good players as AL.Its just that those players in NL,their teams aren't winning.Whereas in AL,teams are winning and thats why their names are being heard more. Thats the difference.
