Terri Schiavo Dies

RIP. The bastards were willing to give her morphine injections to ease the pain of dying, yet weren't willing to give her the tube back!

$700,000 has been used for care, lawyers, and expert medical witnesses, to say he did nothing for her is complete bullshit. He studied to be a nurse to take care of her and was almost given a restraining order at a nursing home because he wanted to take care of her that much.

On Larry King, Michael said there is no life insurance, there is only $50,000 in her estate and he won't get a dime from that.

Cancer patients lose interest in eating near the end of their life, but we don't pump chemicals into them to kill them faster. Its a natural way to go, cancer patients also say that there is no pain towards the end, theres only euphoria.
No, he did shit for her. He demanded on more than one occasion that she not be treated for an infection she had gotten. He got her no rehabilitation. Yeah, he wanted to be a nurse to care for her himself, ok right. What, so he could kill her himself and get away with it? Lawyers for what? So he could keep collecting money on her behalf and spend it on the new wife and kids? Expert medical witnesses for what? Other doctors with the same expertise have given complete opposite information on her condition. There's no ifs, ands or buts about it IMO, he was solely looking out for himself. If he had her best interests at heart, he would have made every effort possible to get her to where she could at least eat on her own and talk. But why didn't he want that to happen since he loves her so much? I don't know, you be the judge. In my personal opinion, he had something to do with her heart attack in the first place and teaching her to talk again might have revealed that. And as I said, that's just my personal opinion, nobody has to agree with it and you don't have to slam me for what I think. You have your opinion and I have mine. All I gotta say to the new wife is that she best write her ass out a living will before something happens to her and she winds up just like Terri.

What sickens me is that people only see one side of the story. They demonize Michael because he wants her to rest in peace, just pathetic.

Terri spent 3 months in Bayfront Medical Center for rehabilitation, then went to california for experimental surgery to stimulate her brain, then to florida for more treatment.

Lawyers had to be paid for court to get the tube taken out. Expert medical witnesses have said she was brain damaged beyond repair, of course other doctors will say "its repairable", but in reality you can't repair the brain when its that damaged, brain cells don't grow back.

Him wanting to be a nurse to kill Terri? What kind of idea is that? Its like trying to be a cop so you can get a gun to shoot your neighbour.

Doctors say she had a heart attack from her diet, she was a bullimic. Some people say he choked her, but there were no signs of marks on her neck or broken arteries in her neck.

But how many people specify, in writing, whether or not they'd want to be sustained by life support or a feeding tube or whatever? The courts determined that it was her wish to die. I'm not saying they were right to come to that conclusion or not, but that's where the contention should lie. It shouldn't be "it's unethical" or "it's evil" or "it's blasphemous" or anything like that. You have to determine whether or not she would want to live in the condition she was in, and the courts deicided that the evidence suggsted not.
its a tricky case without a doubt, and i dont really know that much about the case exept what her homepage told.

To me, the family who share the same blood as her should have the last words, not a husband wich has a new wife and kids wich isnt interested in listening to the familys whishes.

But what ive read so far is that she hadnt decided what she wanted in a case like this, and if a judge order her to die then why not give an injection? because its not allowed to or what??? then how come its allowed to starve a person to death, that doesnt make any sence.

To me the whole problem is that they starve her to death.
i respect hes decision, but the family should have had a larger role in deciting this.

i'm happy for her, she is free of pain and misery and resting eternally in the most glorious of places....anyone who thinks that she should be forced to live via machine should re-consider...my mom is a nurse and said that she has seen too much suffering unnecessarily due to machine-driven life support, r.i.p. terry schavio and god bless

but giving her 14 days of intense pain isnt right.
i agree with you though, exept that i dont believe in a heaven.

The principal contention in this case is did Terri want to die? Her parents, who know her best, say she did not, Michael (7 years after her accident) says she did. Also now Michael wants Terri cremeated and sent to his family plot in Pennsylvania in direct opposition to what the Schindler family say Terri would have wanted. The claims building up against Michael Schiavo's behaviour are too large to ignore. When he "married" another women and had children with her, that forfeited his guardianship rights to Terri in my view. What I can't understand is, Terri's parents expressed a wish to care for their brain-damaged daughter and pay for her upkeep yet Michael Schiavo rejected it out of hand and insisted on Terri's feeding tube being removed. Further, he refused to let the parents be present during her final hours and is insisting on having her cremeated when her family say she would have never wanted it. At the very least, Michael Schiavo's behavior warrents further inspection.

You haven't thought about the idea that, maybe Schiavo just wants to get on with his life after such a traumatic experience?

No one knows for sure except Micheal S. and the now deceased Terri, so let's stop with demonizing the guy.

I'm not attempting to demonize the guy after all he indeed may be just looking out for Terri's wishes. My point is, his behaviour throughout this case warrents further inspection.
