Report: Owens leaves Eagles camp after spat
NFL.com wire reports

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Aug. 10, 2005) -- Terrell Owens has left Philadelphia Eagles training camp and returned to his home in New Jersey following an apparent verbal disagreement with coach Andy Reid, Philadelphia's ComcastSportsNet.com reported.

The dispute occurred during a meeting, the report said. Owens left the meeting, packed up his belongings and drove home.

Owens' publicist, who confirmed the incident and that Owens has left, is currently en route from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, the website said.

Owens did not practice with the team, but did work out with assistant trainer Chris Peduzzi on one of the adjacent practice fields.

Owens has missed five of the last six days with a groin injury suffered on Aug. 4. He ran some light routes and caught passes from a machine.

Owens is seeking to renegotiate the seven-year deal he signed last year. The Eagles have said they would not do so. On Aug. 1, Owens reported to camp on time, and agent Drew Rosenhaus said a walkout was unlikely.

Man, Fuck TO. He obviously thinks he's more important than the team itself. He got a huge contract last year, and he already wants a raise. Now he just leaves and goes home. The NFL doesn't need bitch babies who cry whenever they don't get what they want. He doesn't care about the team, or anyone else but himself. He's the most selfish crybaby bitch athlete I've ever seen

One day in and people are already treating this bigger than it is. He got kicked out of camp for using "explitives". Big deal. There is more to it but the whole T.O. situation is getting way blown out of proportion. The guy wants money that he thinks he deserves, what do you do when you want a raise? Ask for it of course. That is all he has done, asked for a raise, he didn't miss camp, hasn't really done anything. His teammates seem not even to care. Blah it's getting out of hand cus people love to hate.

loll, this guy is putting on a show whatever he does. Trade him? for what? At the same price that the Eagles paid to the Ravens 1 year ago, no thanks. Yes, Owens is a selfish player but Philly's gm knew what he was doing last year when he acquired him, if the Eagles had won the Super Bowl last year, his raise would have be accepted i'm sure. Keep him and let him do his personnal training camp at home.

I knew the TO nutwashers would come in sooner or later

no mention of how he publically challenged the team, unlike many other NFL players who are holding out? no mention of how he said he would show up and be a distraction at training camp, unlike the other hold outs? or how he openly criticizes his teammates (ie cheapshots at Mcnabb), unlike the other players holding out?

holding out is an entirely different story than what TO is doing

I hate T.O. and I hate the Eagles, so granted, I love this.

The Eagles should trade T.O. back to the 49ers. How I would love that. They just better not cut him. I don't want to see him sign for a big contract.

Asking for a raise is one thing, but they just signed him to a huge deal last year, and he already wants a raise? If you got a huge raise at your work, would you go and ask for another one a year later? What has he done for the team? Nothing. He didn't get them to the Super Bowl like they thought he would, the Eagles did that without him. And like Bank Robber said, he's done a lot of other things, like take personal shots at the team. I said it before, and I'll say it again: Fuck T.O. The NFL doesn't need whiny bitches like him.

He hasnt challenged the team, the media has, it is not T.O's fault that the media can care less about any other player holding out. How is this different than what any other player holding out is doing, oh yeah, he's not holding out. And it is his fault he is a distraction at training camp, they are mad at him FOR NOT TALKING, NOT SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS, how is it a distraction to not say a single thing. How is he a distraction when he misses practice because of an injury. He is doing his own thing away from the team because of injury and it is his fault? Oh yeah, any player going through rehab does every single workout with the team, what am i thinking. Right now T.O is being the stubborn player who didnt get his raise, big deal, i'm sure everyone will be complaining when he scores his first touchdown, and his 14th again. McNabb openley criticized T.O, where is the hate on him, its just choosing sides, Favre criticizes but no hate either, again a choice of sides. It is hate, T.O is the guy people love to hate, he is the scapegoat right now, but as soon as he gets on the field it will go away, until he celebrates a touchdown.

I'm guessing that would be pretty hard for "other hold outs" to be a distraction when they aren't even their.
Ask any coach about any holdout situation, they will go on and do the same thing with the team they have, not who is expected to be their.

Aristotle, I dont mean this personally, but you're coming across as a total dumbass in this thread

serveral confirmed incidents of TO challenging his team:

-TO told his offensive coordinator "dont speak to me unless I speak to you first" (confirmed by TO)
-Told Hugh Douglas to back off and called him a "hater" when Hugh welcomed him in day 2 of training camp
-Last winter, when asked about his contract, he said "I'm not the one who got tired during the middle of the superbowl", an obvious knock at Mcnabb

TO taking this public with Drew Rosenhaus going all over ESPN for interviews is completely different than what any other holdouts are doing (ie Abrham, Gates, Ward etc) and nothing but disrespect for the entire Eagles organization.

Dont bother replying unless its to admit you were wrong

The guy is just an attention whore, this whole thing is probably something he thought of to get himself more publicity. I can respect the guy as a player, he's got some amazing skills. But he's just a baby. All he does is complain and bitch about everything. And it's clear that he doesn't care about anyone or anything other than himself and his own wellbeing. You can defend him all you want, but at the end of his career, people aren't going to remember him for his accomplishments on the field, they will remember him for being a spoiled bitch crybaby.

That's exactly right. I don't see all these other holdouts all over the news, bitching and crying. I mean the guy's contract is 7 years, $48.97 million, and he's crying for more? Maybe if the Eagles had won the Super Bowl, and if he had a huge role in them winning it, I might see his point of view. But they didn't, and he didn't, so he should quit bitching

T.O.'s contract sucks, there's no disputing that. His contract was backloaded so that they could pay him peanuts for a few years and then release him. He's only getting $3.25 million this year, which is much lower than the other top tier receivers.

My problem with T.O. is that he signed the contract and then he complains about it. If you don't like it, don't sign it, and if you sign, you better live up to your agreement.

His antics are bullshit too.
