Octovio Dotel - risky but could play off
Kyle Farnsworth - solid signing
Johnny Damon - good signing
Bernie Williams - could be a decent #9 hitter as a DH
Hideki Matsui - great re-signing, solid hitter

and we didn't need to trade Wang or Cano :thumb:

dotel isnt really risky...he is really good...and if he falls out, then you got fahrnsworth....

i'd like to have seen more SPs though....i have yet to see jaret wright and pavano healthy....last year was just terrible...

you never know, they could come around and be the amzing pitchers they are, and will help the yanks like they were originally brought in to do...

randy johnson
mike mussina
shawn chacon
jaret wright (bum)
carl pavano
aaron small
chien-ming wang

we have too many starting pitchers, I say Wright and Pavano get the axe (Wright sucks and Pavano is a bitch) but most likely Small and Wright will get it

I'll have my say about Yankees so far this offseason. Yanks are alsmost same now as they were last year except for Damon signing.

Octovio Dotel=Tom Gordon
Kyle Farnswort=Felix Rodriguez
Mike Stanton=Mike Myers

Bullpen has got same if not any less because Dotel is a risk because of Tommy John surgery or something he did last year.

Starting pitching is same as last year. and how far they went with that starting pitching we saw that in playoffs last year.

Only possitive move was Damon signing. but i seen it with Giambi, i seen it with Shefield, Matsui and A-Rod that no matter how good of offensive players you bring in, if your pitching isnt good enough you not going anywhere with your sluggers. so in conclusion, im not falling for Damons singing as a chance for Yanks to win a tittle next year. but theres still some time left before the start of 06 season so hopefully Yankees get at least one solid starting pitcher.

i forgot to mention mike myers, a great lefty addition to the bull pen

farnsworth is the next felix rodriguez? bahahahaahahahahahahaha

and Dotel could be an upgrade over Tom Gordon because Gordon is a major choker in the playoffs, has been his entire career

Mike Myers is a great addition but you make it even by loosing Stanton.

Farnsworth wishes to be next or like Felix Rodriguez. Fransworth era 4.45 Rodriguez era is 3.25

Although Gordon isnt good in postseason, one, Dotel is no better in postseason either and he also hangs in the air as to you dont know what kinda season he can give you. where as you had Gordon he would at least guarentee you to lead you to the playoffs and then loose it there which im sure couldn't be blamed all on him if (cough) starting pitcher cant give you some innings.

was feliz rod. really that good??? fahrns. is really good in tight situations..being a cubs fan, i've seen him in those tight games....he is def. an upgrade...

and i forgot about all thos other SPs...chacon was very good as was small....nice to see the yanks not buy their talent, but actually take a chance with a Rocky and make him into a solid starter...i like that

and what about now having two leadoff hitters in damon and in jeter...who comes first now?? looks like everyone moves down a spot in the order...

Farnsworth had a 2.19 ERA last year (2.32 in Detroit, 1.98 in ATL), thats all I care about

how his ERA was his entire career (4.45) isnt a proper projection of how he will fare next year, I'd say its more likely that he's improved as a pitcher since 1999

Yankees have signed Jaret Wright and Carl Pavano based on their previous performance and hoped they'd get that next year but unfortunatly we've got bad results from them. same thing i see happening with Farnsworth because he is not a proven pitcher to pick him up.

and A-rod and Sheffield both lived up to their recent pre-yankee success

either way, I'm holding Farnsworth to his 2005 stats, not his 1999-2005 stats

Giants have done alright.

They have aqurired
steve finley
jose viscaino
matt morris
mark sweeny
steve kline
tim worrell
jeff miller
a bunch of minor league players

lost
edgardo alfonzo
j.t. snow
brett tomko

with the new additions and a healthy bonds, the giants should easily take the nl west next season.

yeah the giants did improve quite a bit....i'll do my cubbies now...

we got scott eyre and bob howry, two amazing relievers last year....the cubs were famous for losing those close games..or jus games in general, last year, i dont think it'll happen as much, or anymore, now.....the bullpen really was our major problem, a lead off hitter taking a backseat to it...

pierre, man....wow..marlins little clearance sale really helped us out....arguably the best leadoff man out there...didnt have a hell of a season last year, but look at his career stats, and he's an amazing player....our lead off problem is solved...

the other acquisitions werent as important...to me atleast...john mabry...might play outfield or something...prolly right...i see him as a downgrade from burnitz, but whatever, i tihnk pierre makes up for it...

as far as getting tejada, i read on yahoo sports that the cubs were the #1 choice for HIM, not the team, but for him to consider going to...but then a trade would most likely concern zambrano or prior, and another good player, which really, isnt worth it...if we lose a pitcher, i think we're back to square one with our pitching, cuz prior still has to prove himself from his 03 season, and wood will prolly have more timei n the bullpen before becomign a starter...in fact, he may never start again, and just remain in the bullpen....maybe the cubs should go for another SP??? whichever ones are left...it woulda been nice to have millwood...

well since i still have no baseball team and probably wont for 30 years or so ill only really be cheering for Vlady, OC and the rest of the ex-Expos on the Angels, I also like how Omar Minaya has stacked the Mets with them so I might be following them a lil, let me throw my two cents in on what's been said so far...

farnsworth & dotel- dotel is a great pitcher and yes he is a huge risk coming off surgery, but he went down pretty early on in the season so the guy has had plenty of time to recover, as for farnsworth, he's not expected to come in and be mariano rivera, as long as he can hold a lead he'll be ok, and relief pitcher era's are extremely misleading since sometimes they get pulled with their baserunners on, i think either way it was a great move, they lost their set up man in gordan and got two guys who will be battling to be set up man

damon signing- simply put jeter will feel less pressure, have a great year and bernie williams as dh, really cant ask for more (except maybe a consistent starting pitching staff)

as for the cubs, them getting juan pierre was probably one of the best offseason moves by any team, not only they did get an incredible leadoff hitter and fielder, they also signed jacques jones from the twins to compliment him in the field, i can honestly say theres going to be a boatload of highlights coming out of wrigley field this year, now their only problem is starting pitching, prior and wood are both HUGE question marks and they should definately try dumping one before spring training

the giants, getting steve finley and jose viscaino isn't exactly anything to write home about, but replacing a bum like tomko for matt morris definately is, with the giants all that really matters is if bonds is healthy or not, felipe's managing willl take care of the rest

My Blue Jays have done well so far:

B.J Ryan
A.J Burnett
Troy Glaus

Not AMAZING, but adding these 3 is much better than what they had. I'm just kinda disappointed they got rid of Orlando Hudson :(

ah man, you must be a bigger cubs fan than me, cuz how could i have forgotten jones....yes, he should make some huge changes in the outfield...but really, to be honest, im more excited about the pitchers, eyre and howry than i am about pierre...and i have no clue why....its just that the bullpen upsetted me the most last year...the leadoff hitter part, i felt, and still feel, is a privilege to have....you should have one, but you cant always have one....

and yes, the blue jays have been impressive as well...have burnett stay healthy and you got a rotation with ted lilly, halladay, and burnett....i dunno your relievers though...frasor, schonweis?? then ryan after that...how good is that?? the glaus will most def. help you out...

I didnt like trading Milton Bradley. When he is on his game, he is a great CF and can hit for power. Also didnt like the Nomar signing. Fucker is going to injure himself walking to the car. I liked the Furcal signing though. We need some pitching now.
