The side that is being unfair deserves to be bad guy, the side that is oppressing and the side that is occupying and the side that rules with an iron fist (Israel) and the side who supports that (USA). It's us. Our military is the oppressor. Our government doesn't wanna leave them alone. We are not helping anyone. They woulda never stepped a foot on our soil if it wasn't for us being there.

The taliban did not harbor terrorists. They were trying to help rebels liberate Palestine. THAT'S why I quoted you. Your "prestigeous" Marines fought a "war on terror" against Palestinian freedom fighters. Israel is holding them captive on their own land. US Marines fought a war to continue this oppression. That's what oppressors do. They are fighting to keep people oppressed. That is not honorable.

Peace.

*EDIT
I forgot to say...I don't agree with 9/11 either, and I know a lot of innocent people and children were killed. I don't think it was right, but we've gotta look at ourselves and ask ourselves what we did to deserve it. Our government has been corrupt for such a long time. I'm trying to change this. I'm trying to get people (poeticdavinci) to realize that joining them is not gonna honor the victims of that day, and it's not gonna make the world better. We need to make sure that war is stopped, because that, and only that, will prevent destruction and death. We need to make peace, and help, instead of fight. If we can do this, those people will not have died in vain.
So do you fight for Native Americans as well? If your house was at risk of being taken because it was on land deemed owned by the Seminole Indians or whoever, would you just say, "You know what, we shouldn't have moved in on your land in the first place. Here's the keys to my home"?

What makes Palestine right and Israel wrong? Jews occupied that land for just as long, if not longer.

The point is that there is no right side or wrong side, or good guy or bad guy.

I'm sure that someone's going to quote this and write a book on Israel-Palestine relations. Don't bother, I don't care. It doesn't matter in reference to my point.

Edit: By the way, I agree with the fact that we need peace. It's obvious that none of this is solving anything.

Yeah I understand what u mean. I'm just saying that it's wrong for Israel to be occupying them. It doesn't matter who it belonged to, it matters what's going on now. They need to show eachother compassion, and Israel is not willing to do that for the most part.

I don't think that Native Americans should fight a war on us now, but to get some land back, yes, I would support that. Reservations should be bigger and I support their reparations. It's not as bad though, because there aren't that many Native Americans, but there are a lot of Palestianians, and their being oppressed constantly over there.

So basically I'm saying that Israel needs to be compassionate and share that land. They shouldn't be running poor families over with tanks. And America needs to keep to itself. We need to make peace within our own boundries, not go into battle around the world.

Peace.

I think that President Bush pulled some "intel" out of his ass and used it as it as an excuse to invade Iraq. I openly opposed the invasion of Iraq in my history classed, where the topic was often debated. I didn't think Iraq was any of the Unites States' business. But now, three years after the coalition forces invaded and occupied Iraq, what's the sense of protesting? Nothing is going to change. We are there and we are at war. I don't think we should be there in the first place, but how can we just leave a country that we tore apart in shambles? The coalition forces are responsible for that, and we should be responsible for the clean-up. I'm tired of bitching and whining about something I can't change.

I've wanted to be a Marine since I was in grade school. I don't want to go to war. I don't want to kill people. That's not why I'm going into the USMC. I want to be a Marine for those intangible possessions: pride, honor, and integrity. No war is going to change that.

Someone said something in one of their posts about my not understanding Middle Eastern culture. My stepdad is Syrian. I know is family and I've been integrated into that culture. The summer between my 8th grade and freshman years, I went to Israel with my synagogue's youth group. We traveled into the West Bank. I was able to talk to some of the kids there. While I don't understand how someone could want to live a life that is so oppressive, I can understand how they are unwelcome to change.

No one ever asked the sailors, airmen, Marines, and soldiers of the coalition forces if they wanted to go to war. They are only doing their jobs. They are the ones that are suffering and dying because some white guy in a 3-piece suit wants more money and he sees it in Iraqs' oil fields.

The war in Iraq may not be defending the freedom on the USA directly. The coalition forces are fighting a war they shouldn't have to fight. The people of Iraq should be fighting this war. Thanks to a push start, they are beginning to do this.

I'm a very liberal person. I've hated this war from the start, but now that we're there, and have been there for over 3 years, why should I waste my breath opposing it? It's not going to change anything. I rather use my voice for something positive, like supporting our troops and the entire coalition forces. I'd like for them to come home tomorrow, but I know that's not possible. They have a job to finish up, and when they're done, I'll welcome my friends home with open arms.

Even if you hate the war, how can you hate the troops? They are doing their jobs. Nothing more. It's not personal for them. They want to come home as much as we want them home. I don't care if you hate the war, the USA, Bush, or w/e. But don't hate the troops. Hate the governments and the leaders that have put them there, but not them. They don't have a say in any of this.

I'm done now.

Damn, you fucked up there.

Who are you or any other Yankee to tell the people of Iraq what they should be doing in their own country?

Not only do you have no legitimate authority in the first place, but you cashed in any shred of respect you had years ago so you have absolutely no fucking right to burden the deformed children of Iraq with your opinion.

And you wonder why people are still actively baying for US blood. Liberal or conservative, retardedness seems to run thick.

Edit: And your whole post was just your opinion about the situation - there is a thread for that. Fair enough you might have been wanted to counter some claims or opinions made in this thread about you, if so then do it more directly by quoting so people can actually see what you're on about, otherwise we'll be forced to think you're just posting random shit. :thumb:

I agree and I just wanna point out that I never hated the troops I just hate the military. It's an oppressive organization and it's run by the Government. I just don't know why anyone would join it if they don't endorse who's controlling it. And also I'm a peacemaker and I would only join a warrior group if they were fighting for the oppressed and to get peace.

Peace and sorry.
