Religion V's Science

1. Those verses about how you shouldn't take the christians and jews as friends, seem a bit rough. If you don't think some of these verses are the cause,, than whats your answer? why does islam and muslim countries have problems with militancy?

I agree with Groobz, whether or not the militants take the verses out of context makes little difference. Its because of these verses that they justify their actions, the verses play a major part of their justifications - why they feel so much hatred for the West (since i would argue that they hate the West more than our religion, although to them it comes hand in hand) on the other hand u cannot blame on the book. To me thats our own doing!

Check this out -Daniel- we already live in a George Orwell type of world but people are not conscient to be aware of it. Also if you really think about it Religion and Science are and have been intermingled together for a long time. If you ever read the Q'ran and see what was said about the Pacific ocean where there was some kind of imaginary line in the water that separates both waters. What I mean is that the 2 waters do not mix together. The funniest part out of all this is that scientists just made this discovery these past years. This is just to tell you that more you feel like separating science and religion the more you will see the connections between both. If you want a good book talking about this topic and much more get this one:
La Bible, le Coran et la science from Maurice Bucaille.

Unfortunately it's a book in french but you may be able to find a translation in english.

2. Again you didn't answer my question,, does islam respect religions such as budism and shinto that go against the beliefs of islam? so this means these people reject the word of allah. Does islam respect this? (no more squirming either,, i've asked you this question in other threads and you always alude it,, and i really want to know)
The word does not mean "friends" it actually means "protectors".

The correct translation of the verse in Surat Al-Maidah is: "O you who believe! Do not take Jews and Christians as your patrons. They are patrons of their own people. He among you who will turn to them for patronage is one of them. Verily Allah guides not a people unjust."(Al-Ma'dah :51)

The direct answer to your question can be found here:

http://www.islamonline.net/fatwa/english/FatwaDisplay.asp?hFatwaID=8886

The fighting going on in the muslim world is due to the injustices from the corrupt leaders and people within the countries as well as outside of them. In fact we have been told that this would come about by the Prophet Muhammed (SWH).

For your second question whether Islam respects Buddhism and Shinto as religions, we beleive truth has been made clear from falsehood, people can follow there own way, no one is forced to believe. They would be protected and allowed to practice there faith. When we look back in Islamic history minorities where always protected.

“Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects Tagut and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.” 002.256

No we dont! have u ever read the book? it is nothing like it, the fact that there are different nation states with different goals kinda proves that! Or if your talking about big brother you really have no idea what he was aiming at!

(sorry just hate it when people take Orwell out of context and use him to make same exaggerated point!)

I alredy read that book and also saw the movie, but what I'm saying MX is that Big Brother is here. Even though it's some sort of illusion it will be always be there but you can't really see him.

Peace

I think you are not understanding god if you think that his supposed word would conflict with science. If someone is a christian, they believe in god. Who created science? god. So his word would have no conflict whatsoever with science. The opposite actually, on the contrary it would be very revealing.
