Liverpool need to do something about the defence.Carragher is playing the worst he has ever played.Hyypia, who is possibly Liverpool's best signing ever(taking into consideration that he only cost 2.5m from Willem II),is past it.I dont think Agger is much good.

But what can the man do with Charlton in fairness. They are rubbish and have been making a steady decline for the past few seasons.Maybe Curbishly left because he knew relegation wasnt far away.

Riise''s having a shit season as well. Agger should get more games but i dont think he is the answer either.

Well Charlton have Darren Bent, Luke Young, Scott Carson (albeit on loan), Andy Reid, Dennis Rommedahl...a decent enough team to stave off relegation. It's not as though Reading have a team of world-beaters. Dowie needed to instil some belief and team spirit. Whether he was given enough time to do so, I don't know.

Signing Djimi Traore is a sackable offence on its own, though.

^^Yea i guess. They have a few decent players but a lot of very poor players as well though.I remember when Traore joined Charlton,i turned to the soccer page on text and the heading read:European Cup winner joins Charlton.I thought they had signed some big name player until i saw it was Djimi Traore. Hard to believe someone so shit has won a european cup.

Compare Charlton to Villa:
Both finish bottom half last season, Charlton three places above Villa.
Both get new managers
Martin O'Neill takes Villa to 4th in the league
Iain Dowie takes Charlton to the bottom of the table

Just goes to emphasise the difference between a good manager and a bad one.

^True, but 12 games isn't enough. Seeing as theyve played Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Rommedahl has been poor in the Premiership, if anything he should be sold. Shame to see a player who had alot of potential play like one good match since hes been here.

Marin O'Neill is a great manager. He inherited much the same side as Villa had last year and added players like Petrov and Sutton who served him well at Celtic. Now Villa are a hard team to beat. Why the fuck wasnt he made Ireland manager. The FAI are a thick shower of fools.

I was going to wait until the Christmas break to gloat, but...

DPG iz all I C said:
OK so not long till the Premiership starts. Whats everyone expecting this year.

I'll say:

Champions - Chelsea, just can't see anyone being able to compete with their strentgh in depth.

2nd - Liverpool
3rd - Arsenal
4th - Man Utd

I fancy Liverpool this season. If you take the first month's results out of last seasons league standings then Liverpool would've finished top.
United are currently top of the table, Chelsea second, trailing by three points. Jibster's tip for the top Liverpool are currently sitting ninth, while everyone's pick for third place Arsenal lie sixth. Both Wenger and Benitez are out of the title race, and they haven't even opened their advent calendars. I know more than a few Scousers who are hoping Santa brings them a new manager this Christmas.

My favourite predictions came from troublesome2004. Check out these pearls of wisdom.

Liverpool and Arsenal are hungry but, at the end, they will fight for the 2nd place.
13 and 14 games in respectively, and both teams have managed to pick up just six wins.

Wenger is persistent and his work ethics provides results.
Wenger certainly is persistent. Despite losing today 3-1 to Bolton, Wenger is still blaming his team's poor form on bad luck.

I really don't understand Manchester United policy. It seems that Ferguson, stubborn like he always was, refuse to take different approach. That gave him trophies in the 90's but this is different time. I don't like to predict but they'll have problems with Tottenham to keep their place in first 4 teams in the league. Spurs got Berbatov and Zokora. Their rise will continue.
I felt these comments needed to be singled out. Tottenham's fortunes have taken a significant dive since offloading star man Michael Carrick to United. Pushing United for a top-four spot? The Red Devils top the table with more than twice as many points as the Yids. I think Nostradamus's job is safe.

12 | Tottenham Hotspur | 16

In conclusion, you all suck. I rule. I am King.

^^^well they did get Berbetov and Zokora who are two great players. Tottenham will be good next year i think, they just need to play together a lil bit more.

lmao at Illuminatattile.

Still shocked many thought Arsenal would do well...the same team who finished 4th (just might i add) last season and got rid of the likes of Pires.

and Bergkamps retirement didn't help either.

Player stabbed at bar

Former Manchester United footballer Ronnie Wallwork has been stabbed seven times at a nightclub.

The midfielder, now at West Brom but on loan to Barnsley, was attacked in Manchester's Sugar Lounge last night.

Police said the 28-year-old was repeatedly stabbed at the venue on Whitworth Street West.

He was taken to hospital with wounds to his hand, stomach and back.

It is not known what type of weapon was used.

Wallwork remains in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detectives believe it was not a random attack and are making further enquiries to trace the offender.

Anyone with any further information is encouraged to contact police on 0161 856 3240 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
