Yes, the job is dangerous. Period. Doesn't matter whether it comes to law enforcement or war - the debate over the relative strengths of men and women are subsidiary issues to me.... how about generating a peaceful society where neither sexes have to face the prospects of violence. Yep, "idealist."
what kind of fairy tale land do u live in.
violence is natural in humans. they say that when you get drunk your true thoughts, feelings, and way of acting is expressed. and like 9/10 people get violent. why? becuase it is in our nature to be violent. we just hide it cuz of society and laws and all that bs

I didnt say that idealism existed, did I? No.
I didnt speculate about the causes of violence in human nature, did I? No.

I said, shit, wouldn't it be good if we didn't have to resort of forceful control in order to moderate violence in society. Simple. Wouldn't it be good. That is all.

I've asked Amara this many times myself haha. Amara they're cops, trying to stop violence, not participating in it. Its a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.

Yeah, ghost, it is a damn fairy tale land - the reason being there are too many pessimists will little creativity or ability to conceive a better world, thus the hopes for peace and stability will never be achieved because of the propensity to needlessly reduce ourselves to the framework of violence. Fuck it, I'm proud of my fairy land!!! lol.

I was referring to possession of weapons necessary for the containment of violence that exists in society (not the perpetuation of it) and that essentially we would not need to do so if the causes of that violence ceased to exist. I wasn't saying it was a good or bad thing, rather the need to do so could be overcome by more resouceful methods of preventative strategy.

P.S. this should go to WoW.

Police have weapons for a reason Amara. Although the criminal gangs would love to live in your world where police have no power, it ain't going to happen, thankfully.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have weapons, I'm not saying they should have no power..... I'm saying theoretically if violence was targetted at it's source, there would be no need for enforcement. It's about prevention rather than response.

Your in fairy land again, with your "theoretically". There will always be a need for enforcement, and jails, because crime will always exist.

Power was taken away from police in brisbane city,, now look at it, its in shambles because you have punks knifing people for shoes, because they know police have no power.

Crime exists as an inevitable consequence of the structure of society and the economy. It is not an innate feature, it is a construct - one which can be broken down and rebuilt in better form.

For the last time, I'm not advocating a lack of enforcement power, I am advocating more workable systems to reduce the necessity of deviant behaviour and violence.

In your opinion it is. But thankfully most people understand that crime will always exist no matter what. Thats why we live in this world today amara, not neverland where we all sing songs, smoke weed, and hug eachother.
