I have heard he had a fight with ronaldo too
I heard something about this also from a article written by a Sentana Sports Network reporter, it's along the lines of Ronaldo wouldn't pass to Ruud in training so Ruud says, "What are you doing i'm the striker, pass to me?". Ronaldo then hurls abuse at him and Ruud says "Go cry to your father" (who we know passed away). It then says Ronaldo and Ruud trade blows.

Seems like bullshit to me.

EDIT: I just found the article:

EXCLUSIVE: The facts behind Ruud's walk-out
Monday, 8 May 20:22 BST

Setanta Sports can EXCLUSIVELY reveal the story behind the bust-up that saw Ruud van Nistelrooy dropped from the Manchester United team to face Charlton, a bust-up that could well presage the end of the Dutchman's Old Trafford career.

Speaking to Daire O'Brien on Setanta Sports' The Hub, European Soccer Correspondent Graeme Hunter explained the incident that caused Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to drop his star striker.

"In January, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo, who literally cannot stand the sight of each other, traded punches in training, and van Nistelrooy left Ronaldo with a broken face," Hunter explained.

"On Sunday, van Nistelrooy was not named in the Manchester United team, and as we all now know, he walks out.

"The roots are from a serious bust-up on the training pitch the day before, over a perennial row between the two. Ronaldo held onto the ball too long in training, and van Nistelrooy asked again: "Why do you keep onto the ball, why don't you pass to me? I am in position, I am the striker. Get the ball to me."

Hunter went on: "Ronaldo gives van Nistelrooy some lip, it ends up in a fight, and van Nistelrooy as he always does, needles into Ronaldo, and says "Yeah, yeah, go running to your Dad."

"He means Carlos Quieroz, Ferguson's assistant. Ronaldo's own father had died during the season, and finally, in the face of this abuse, Ronaldo burst into tears on the pitch and shouts "I don't have a Dad, he's dead."

This is the incident Sir Alex Ferguson spoke of after the game on Sunday when talked about a need to keep "team unity" at the club.

However, Hunter is not so keen to write off van Nistelrooy's Old Trafford career just yet.

"It is not necessarily the end for van Nistelrooy, because he is the goalscorer, and Ferguson still wants four strikers at the club.

"What Sir Alex may not know is that Cristiano Ronaldo is dead set on leaving Manchester United this summer, if Madrid will buy him. He personally has had enough of Manchester United, and English football. Also, he is greedy young lad, he wants more money, and he thinks that he can get it at Real Madrid. So, it may be that we are left with Ronaldo saying that he wants to go, and that van Nistelrooy and Ferguson may make their peace."

I went to Old Trafford on Sunday, good game, Richardson hit two absolute screamers, one hit the bar and bounced out, the other went in.

Was very disappointed with Rossi though. I had him on "player cam" so to speak and he lacked a bit of spark IMO. His touch let him down a couple of times and could've done better with a couple of half chances. Also didn't drop as deep to get the ball as he should've and seemed somewhat overawed. He's obviously a good player judging from his record in the reserves but if Ruud goes Utd'll still need a top class striker as a replacement.

I'd take the Setanta Sports article with a bucket of salt. The idea that a reporter knows that Ronaldo wants to leave, but Ferguson doesn't is suspect. The whole "Go talk to your dad" "I don't have a dad!" *bursts into tears* thing sounds like a soap opera too.

However...

If Cristiano goes (and I hope he doesn't) I definitely think SAF should buy Lennon. He's young, he's had a great season and he has Prem experience. If Ferguson has to bring in two central midfielders, a winger and a striker then as many of them as possible need to have Premiership experience, so they don't take too long to settle in.

As far as who we could get to replace Ruud, I don't know. Maybe Defoe, but who knows how much he'd cost? A straight swap for RVN, perhaps.

C.Ronaldo said he wants to go to Spain in the future as there more time on the ball there, i doubt he will leave this summer.

Fernando Torres??

I'd even consider Ronaldo from Real Madrid, he's got himself back in shape again:

It's well known he wants to leave Real and I've got a feeling he's gonna shine at the World Cup.

Then again I think our Midfield is a greater priority at the moment, we need at least one midfielder this summer at the bare minimum.

A lot of people thinks that Ronaldo is not in the best shape in a past couple of years. I don't agree with that at all. I'll give you just one example. This year, on testing, the fastest three players of Real were Roberto Carlos, Cicinho and Ronaldo. :woah: On 100 meters he runs about 11 seconds. You can't consider him 'in a bad shape'. IMO he's still one of the top 5 strikers in the World. Ronaldo still delievers his magic. Alongside Zidane, he's the best player in this game in past 10 years. But, he isn't happy in Madrid. They didn't treat him like he deserved. Mostly because of fans, which often provoked him, he's on his way out. 'Galacticos' era is over. Morientes & Figo left, Zidane will retire after World Cup, Roberto Carlos and Raul are just shadows of what they used to be. Ronaldo is the last Mohican. :) I think that Inter Milan is his first choice although some teams from Brasil, like Flamengo, want him desperately. But, he could easily went to Manchester too.
As we are speakin about some players which are about to finish they career in Premier League (like Henry & Van Nistelrooy), what you think about these three - Duncan Ferguson, Bruno N'Gotty & Jay-Jay Okocha? All of them were sacked these days after poor season. Will we ever have a chance to see them still playing in Premier League? Also, Sherringham didn't decide it yet will he play another season for the Hammers.

When I say bad shape I don't mean unfit and fat as no professional footballers are, but Ronaldo bulked out a bit and carried extra weight which made him a bitslower and less agile.

Duncan Ferguson - The man's been around the block, but he's been a solid player and had a steady career.

N'Gotty - I Don't rate him.

Okocha - Talented footballer but never really reached the level he has the potential too.

Ronaldo is still a great player, hes been hampered by injuries this season, he showed some signs of old in the match vs deportivo when he dribbled past Deportivos defence...but irony is he got injured in that match and looks like he wont play in the final league match.

I doubt United can afford to bring in Torres and two World Class midfielders.

I'd even consider Ronaldo from Real Madrid, he's got himself back in shape again:
I think that's more likely. Hopefully, due to his age and willingness to leave, we can get him a bit cheaper. Maybe even a straight swap for Ruud.
