Last Day of the Premiership

How do you know it wasn't a hell lot of luck, you were smoking in Amsterdam. :p
Watched Ajax - Psv? That was a nice match, though we seem te have the worst refs in the world.

Anyway, I agree with you on not missing Ruud. I think he ain't what he was, though i think he can be usefull for the Dutch squad on the worlds. Personally i prefer K-J Huntelaar, though Ruud is stronger.

I think Man Utd won't be champion te comin couple of years. They miss some creativity in the team. They miss players like Beckham. Ronaldo has a lot of potential, but he fails to show it every match. They're gonna need a new striker. With Saha they will never become champion. Though i would hate to see him go, I think Huntelaar would be the right man at the right place for man Utd.

But Saha is around for a couple of years now. He is a good striker to use against the PL-teams in the bottomhalf, but in the important matches he ain't good enough (in my opinion at least). They need a new striker if they really want something for the next years. Raul from Real? That could be a great replacement for Ruud.

Kieran Richarson is still young and got potential. He played leftback a lot this season i think? I thought he was more of a winger, a future Ryan Giggs. Is he making the slection of the English squad 4 the worlds? (or is Ashley Cole back from his injury in time?)

Richardson aint a striker, Saha is a good striker but i'd expect someone better than him to be leading the line for Utd while i've only seen a few games where Rossi has played.

RAUL???

Raul hasn't scored in the La Liga since October, hardly an ideal replacement lol.

RVN is a good striker, he will score if he gets service but is a waste if he gets no service. Torres from Ath Madrid might be a good buy or in an ideal world Adriano from Inter :D

Raul has been out with injury for about 4 months though. I do agree with you he should and won't be the replacelment.

What Man Utd need is a out and out striker, someone who scores the tap ins.

True he may of been injured but he seems out of sorts, he misses really easy chances, maybe ne needs a change of scenery, im sure Liverpool would try and sign him in the summer.

Hmm i can see why they would (Benitez and Morientes) but would be a bad move if they did IMO.

Raul is a brilliant striker and he will be back at his old level next year. Despite the rumours i think he will do his career out in Madrid.

Any team would miss Ruud. Apart from last season when he had his injury, he's scored 20+ goals every season. He's the complete "in the box" striker.

Saha is not good enough to be our main striker, he's not clinical enough and his off the ball movement and postioning is no where near Ruud's. With Saha we're talking 15-20 goals a season, not the 20-30 that Ruud has guarenteed in past seasons (and can still do).

Rossi is awesome technically, he's got everything a good striker should have...except height. His ariel prowess isn't as good as Ruud's and never will be due to the fact that he's too short. He doesn't offer the strength that Ruud does as well. Again, in my opinion, he's a 15-20 goal a season striker.

Monsiuer Rooney, as we know is immense, and there's more to come. But to use him as an out an out striker would take away from his game and the impact he makes on games overall. We all know he likes to come deep and influences the game on more levels that scoring. Saying that I think he could score 25 a season BUT I'd rather have him scoring 15 and helping someone else score 25+. That's why we need a striker of Ruud's calibre.

It's a shame how things have turned out. Ruud wasn't prepared to fight for his place. Its understandable that he may have thought he'd earned first choice in every team by his record alone. No one can argue against his record, or the claim that he has been one of United's, if not the Premierships, greatest strikers. But it seems he didn't pass Ferguson's test, and wasn't prepared to fight for a place that he thought should have been his.

fergie didn't make him leave, he walked out cos he spat his dummy out
Of course Fergie made him leave. He dropped him to teach him a lesson/reward Saha's cup form, then let him rot on the bench losing his sharpness and not giving him a chance to play. Then, when he understandably gets frustrated, Fergie berates him and blames him for ruining team morale.

Fergie forced Stam, Becks and Keane out of the club and he's done the same with Ruud. United will miss him just as much as they missed the other three, maybe more. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't replaced, and Fergie just used the transfer money to bring in midfielders.

in a club that big you should not expect to play every match. this sort of thing never happens at chelsea!!!

i agree with the beckham thing though

Fergie's definitely not one to be messed with, but I guess without that mentality we wouldn't have any of the success we have had. I don't see Beck's as a major loss though. Keane, even though in my eyes he's a bloody legend, is past it. The Stam thing was a special case though. I heard rumours (from someone I knew inside Old Trafford) that Fergie was waiting for an excuse to get rid of Stam cos he was on Nandrolone in his United days. The book thing was just that excuse.

There are valid reasons for Ruud being left out, but here are also valid reasons for Ruud to leave the club. This may be a very faint hope, but I hope this gets sorted out (though I read something in the Times that he's definitely gone).
