Last Day of the Premiership

#1
Hasn't even kicked off yet, and already there's controversy.

Seven Spurs players were hit by food poisoning (Arsene Wenger, I'm looking in your direction) but were told that the game would have to go ahead as scheduled. Four of the players supposedly affected start the match; Robinson, Dawson, Kelly and Lennon.

Then, upon hearing that he'd bizarrely be left on the bench, Ruud van Nistelrooy went home/was sent home, surely signalling the end of his Manchester United career. Another example of Alex Ferguson driving a player out of the club. On the upside, it gives Giuseppe Rossi a chance to show his stuff.

On top of that, it's Alan Curbishley's last game in charge of Charlton, and it's Arsenal's last game at Highbury before moving to their new Emirates Stadium.

Should be a very interesting day of football.

Henry is just amazing, I'll think he'll stay now as long as wenger makes some moves in the transfer market this summer, bit dissapointed liverpool didn't pip utd to second, gotta come back extra early now to prepare for the champions league qualifier, I feel sorry for tottenham but they've got to look at it as this season was a moajor step forward for them, but I don't feel sorry for their fans because all I've heard from them for the last 2 months is champions league this and champions league that they were doing my nut in,

Dissapointed about Ruud, yet I can't blame the guy, he was leading goal scorer and was benched for no logical reason. Fergie is such a prick sometimes. I'll be sad to watch him go, Old Trafford legend, thanks for the memories :thumb:

I don't think the blame lies with Feguson here. It seems a good old case of "I dont get my own way so I'll be a nob itis" so common with Dutch players. Ruud was left out for a logical reason, Saha was playing well in the Carling Cup and deserved to play the final. Plus he's been scoring shitloads. Ruud, instead of knuckling down training harder, etc went on all moody. There were reports that there was trouble at the training ground the previous week, with Ruud and his behaviour being the culprit.

Now I know these reports may not be entirely true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Ruuds an amazing player and if he left we would miss him a lot. But he's only got himself to blame. He should know there aren't any guarented places at United and not whinge when he's been put on the bench.

Yea I can understand him being benched for the Carling Cup but for the rest of the Premiership and yesterdays game why not play him?

I can understand your point of view. When players don't play they here, they start asking why. Though it is clearly the discision of the manager. It's more the mentallity here.

But according to RvN I don't think you're right about this. Players Like Davids, Kluivert, Seedorf, Stam?, etc. got a certain reputation. But I don't think RvN is that kind of person. Especially Seedorf ain't going to the worlds because of his arrogant attitude. RvN has never created this kind of trouble so I don't think it's fair to blame him. Ferguson got a reputation and finished Rvn in the papers last week. Someone as loyal as RvN doesn't deserve this. He could've moved to Real Madrid a few times but stayed at Man Utd. He wanted to show his loyalty beacause of the support Ferguson gave him while he was injured at PSV. He scored 21 times this year, that should be enough. An yes he missed a penalty, Ferguson should buy Seedorf and let him take em. Ferguson's nightmare :p

This game finished 1-3. Koroman finally scored his first Premier League goal. Mandaric said that this game was test for him. If he plays well he'll probably be in a squad for the next season. He's on loan from Terek (Russia). I'll see the highlights of that game tonight.

It's a shame Spurs didn't keep 4th place. Now when Barcelona beat Arsenal it won't be quite as satisfying.
Yes. Tottenham played more constantly in Premier League this season. They deserved that 4th place. It's strange that several Spurs players were hit by a food poisoning before this important match. A lot of contraversy will surround Arsenal's qualifying to Champions League this season. You saw how Sherrigham missed the penalty. He was Tottenham player for years.;)

This could easily be not just last day of this season in PL but also the last games of Henry and Van Nistelrooy in English clubs.

i ain't really arsed about Ruud to be honest. the last few games he played he was shit anyway. too much of a diva attitude for my liking. and Rossi is good, he will definatley get better. i said at the beginning of the season we wouldn't have Ruud next season. i ain't sad, we have had the best out of him.

It looks like he becomes worse every season. He made a lot of goals last seasons but his technique got worse and worse. Last year it looked like he could only score. He hasn't become a better player since joinin Man Utd.(though he trained a lot with Meulensteen) So I think it will be a good discission to leave.
I'm sure he will leave. It is dissapointing how Ferguson made him leave, he should've treated him better.

i don't. he has played his best football, we have younger talented players coming through.

our 4-0 win yesterday proved that we can win without Ruud. we don't need him
