Has This Forum Changed Your Opinions?

We have a lot of 'debates' on here, and I just wondered if anyone had changed their opinion based on a person/thread/post in this forum. I'd like to think so, but I don't imagine it happens a lot. It's not easy to change someone's opinion.

Well I learn alot of stuff which I take from here to make much more informed debates. Not really changed my opinion but the counter arguments make me refine slightly what I believe.

^^ no, they've not changed what you originally believed, but many times I may take on someone elses opinion on a subject where I had no opinion.

most of the time i use what i read here...and try to come off intelligent ^...by stating things as a fact sum dumbasses actually believe it...

I don't think it's supposed to change your opinion per say, but expose you to other points of thinking. Different people with different backgrounds, hence the different points of view.

I don't think I have changed my opinions, but definately I have had to think through my opinions and give reasons to back them up, so if anything it's made me think deeper into the issues, which can only be a good thing. It's definately good to see the other side of the argument though, even if I happen to disagree. Although, I will say, remember the "Gay Marriage" thread we had on the old board? well I was never a strong supporter, but when I read all the anti-gay sentiments in the thread, I felt like I should give the other side of the argument, and because of that, I now give greater support for homosexuals and their plight for justice and equality.

not really, but in this forum you do get to see people's true colours! which sometimes is good or bad, here you are liked or disliked or so i think.

I don't think this forum has totally changed my oppinion as of yet, but it has allowed me to see that there is two sides to every story. You should never go on ignorantly believing in something. As you gain more knowledge about certain issues then ur opinion should change. It is easy to be ignorant and believe what you want 'just for the sake of having an opinion' but i think people should attempt to justify their oppinions with proof instead of saying something without a shred of evidence. A perfect example of this ignorace is the person who started the 'Tupac is a muslim thread'.

on some topics, it has...maybe changed is the wrong word, but u just get some nice infos now and then and u start to see from other point of view and so...yeah it's all good.

Not really changed my mind as such, but the debates have opened my eyes to things that i never really used to think about much. Obviously i live in one part of the world, and the way i live is different to everyone else, so its interesting to see how other people think and perceive the world. I have learnt a lot on this forum, so a big up and thank you to all of you!!!

It helped alter my opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian situation, for the better.

By that I mean more informed. Before I looked at any Israeli action as agression against the Palestinains now I realise in many cases it's the terrorists of Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyers brigade who are really to blame.

what about state sponsered terrorism? Dont you think its time we recognised that also. ANd Oh yeah, is it Hamas' fault that Israel are occupying land and are in violation of many UN resolutions

Of course not Hamas didn't even exist when the state of Israel was founded. I'm going to get into a long winded debate with you on this as we both know where we stand but suffice to say this. Both Israel and Palestine has a right to exist, if the Palestinian terrorists stopped killing Israeli's then there would be no need for Israeli retaliation. When the terrorists are clamped down upon I believe you will find Israel more than willing to agree to settle all remaning differences. All Israel wants is to live in peace, that is the crucial point most terrorists cannot grasp.
