^^So if you don't think Syrians did it, who do you think did??? Israel? USA?
Khaled, the Syrians were told take of their troops from Lebanon and it was a harsh warning this time, it happened yesterday.Surely they're smarter than to kill an opposition party member the next day? They're not in a situation where such attacks are going to be blamed on someone else, they're the ones to be blamed. It definetly was an enemy of Syria, somoen who wants to hurt Syria real bad.
Plus, Al Hariri (RIP) was all for the extension of Lahud's period, along with the Syrians.
This attack was well planned, it makes me think that someone from the inside was a double agent.

^^ i would like to remind you that this attack didn't change lebanese people's opinion on Syria.
And with such unrest in lebanon, who do you think the government will ask for help from??? Syrians and the leb gov will be in charge of the investigations (the gov doesn't want to give the investigation to an international commitee, but welcomes any "help")
The results of the investigations will surely lead to the conclusion that it was some terrorist group or maybe israel that was behind everything...
Syria will remain in lebanon "to insure political stability"

I fucking hate this...
You think the syrians care what the rest thinks? long as there is no proof, no one can blame them. Even worse, the gov will use this excuse to justify syrian presence, and no one will blame syria for staying in lebanon

I understand, but dont you think that if the Syrians wanted him dead they would've found better ways, like let's say, poisoning him?His assassination was meant to cause havoc. It're more like getting trying to get a messege across

Come on, man, is this the best you could come up with? Why not do something else, like starting some sort of mafia to scare people off and then halt their attacks? They (whoever they were) assassinated a political character.

about the Guerilla thing, i don't think you are aware that Hariri is one of the most important personality in Lebanon, i honestly think there was no way they could have done it other than a bomb, unless it was the Mossad (which i doubt)

Hariri is one of the most successful people in Lebanese history, in business and politics. He had good ties with Europe and Saudi Arabia, the man was fluent in many languages and most of all he really went out of his way to help rebuild Beirut. There are many who agrue that he was corrupt and, because of his hightened power, created a government within the government so to speak, but may I say, that no one in this Lebanese government is a dove. The man did his best, he singlehandedly rebuilt the downtown area by his investments in solitaire. There are many roads and buildings credited to him. And though you may believe he could have done more, his image as a representative of Lebanon overshadowes all of the shortcomings. He was a hardworking man and an assett to Lebanon, he will be dearly missed. They're having a small get together in remembrance of him this weekend at some mosque here in Michigan. Even though I'm christian, I'm going to attend because I sincerely appreciate everything the man has done to revive Lebanon. I hope all of Lebanon remembers the hardship brought upon by civil war and not fall in the same, reaction driven trap.

^^ nice post

it's true, he did rebuild beirut after the civil war, however, a lot of people believe that he is still supporting the whole economy.
He's a very smart businessman, and a big capitalist, which is why a lot of ppl argue that he was corrupt given that this area of the world has more leftist ideas. However, he invested a lot in the reconstruction of Beirut.
Most importantly, he was one of the few leaders today respected and appreciated by most factions in lebanon, and loved by both Christians and Muslims.

Hariri was opposed for the extension of Lahoud's period, that's why he resigned. Lahoud was his rivalry.

hariri was the only one who could keep lebanon stable. he had a good relationship with the u.s and they had good cooperation. but now that he's gone, all hell will break loose, just watch man, this is fucked up. just shows you how much this man was important to his country.
