Uninstall and reinstall Anti-Vir, that should fix it.

Im still havin trouble with AOL.

my firewall still blockin some of the AOL files and it wouldnt let AOL work fully.

and i cant seem to find the option where i can fix this problem.

where do i go and try to have these files unblocked??

cause everytime firewall is blockin these files it askin me to restart and that happens a lot so i dont wanna be restartin everytime.

There should be an option called "Program Control" in Zone Alarm. Find the programs on that list and change the question marks to ticks.

I think my ZoneAlarm firewall is no good no more. it says your trial has ended and buy the Pro version if you want.
i thought it was free all the way.

If you want you can go to [link removed] and register (it's free) and you can download the pro version of ZoneAlarm for free, as well as many other programs

i clicked on 'scan' and next thing comes up sayin
''we have determined that your IP address is *********
This is the public IP address that is visible to the internet.
Note: this may not be your IP address if you are connecting through a router, proxy or firewall.''

Every i'd say 2-3 weeks or so, all of sudden my internet connection stops working and would not allow me to use Internet and AOL.
then asks me to go to Mcafee Personal Firewall and to have these files 'allow full access'

waol.exe
aolload.exe
aolacsd.exe
aoldial.exe
aoltpspd.exe

after i do that, i allow full access then it works again.

but i never block these file n shit so why by itself blocks and is not allowing full access?

i dont want to be doing this every 2-3 weeks. i wanna have it full access all the time.

anybody know why this shit happends constantly and how to fix it and not to have to do ''allow full access' every time internet connection stops?
AOL needs these programs to run. These programs have to have access to the internet for AOL to work. What you have to do is allow Exceptions. You have to set up the firewall so that it permanently allows those progams access the AOL network. I know it sucks that you have to have all of these programs and applications just to surf the net but that is AOL 4 u...

First thing to think about is XP SP2 has a built in firewall... you should check that and make sure that you are allowing those exceptions there first...That is if you are running more than one software based firewall which you should never do... If it is that big of an issue I would just unistall the third party firewall and use XP SP2 built in firewall that one I know for sure you can configure exceptions...Or uninstall your firewall disable windows fire wall and Get Zone Alarm PRO :thumb: Or if your on a broadband connection go and get a good router that will act as a fire wall, uninstall your firewall and enable windows firewall...All of this really boils down to your using AOL big no no and your software firewall just suxs sorry...

^Are you sure you are using the free version of ZoneAlarm? Today ZoneAlarm pop'ed up asking me that there is an updated version to click on the button and update. So when it asks you which one to select either ZoneAlarm Pro or just ZoneAlarm you select ZoneAlarm. Don't select ZoneAlarm Pro it will be a trial version which I believe you clicked on.

Uninstall ZoneAlarm Pro and get the free version of ZoneAlarm. That is what I have and never asked me to buy.

Here you go

http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?lid=dbtopnav_za

Remember when updating ZoneAlarm select the free version and not the Pro.
that link is exactly the same as in 'teck talk knowledge base' thread so its the same link i downloaded this Zone alarm originally.
but it says that my trial has ended and need to buy Pro version one.

i got no choice to use other firewall cause this is too complicated. i never liked this firewall in first place.

I swear to GOD that this is the free version and never tells you to buy it. I am almost positive that you made the mistake. But like you said it was too complicated for you to use...
