what has changed your mind?
I'd still like Ballack to join United, but only if he's free. We need to buy a replacement for Paul Scholes, not a player only a couple of years younger than him. Rosicky's 25, we need someone around that age.
As they haven't finished outside the top 2 during his reign (as already stated), i don't see how any manager could get fired with that record, it'd be lunacy.
And "if" they finish third this season, what's the argument going to be then? It's nice that he's turned them into perennial runners-up, but
How much did Pascal Cygan cost, under £2million. How often does Wenger play him? Not very, it's called backup.
£2.1m, actually. That's twice as much as he made from selling Matthew Upson. Remember Matthew Upson? The guy who Wenger barely played then, despite impressing in the few games he actually played, was sold off. I know who I'd rather have in my squad.
I'd suggest YOU need to stop comparing him to Fergie and look at the Arsenal pre-Wenger and post-Wenger and then tell me that he could be fired. Quite simply, it's an absolute joke of a statement. I'd love to hear your argument for why he should be fired, try not to let the fact you support Utd cloud your judgement as in your last post though.
You can point to the past all you like, that's exactly what the Ferguson-supporters do. Hell, based on SAF's achievements he'd be there for the rest of his life. There comes a point, though, where you have to look at their CURRENT position and decide whether or not the man in charge is the right one. Perhaps the club needs a manager who's capable of challenging Chelsea and winning the Champion's League.
If somehow you read this, do your research and come back s5till believing he should be fired, i'd be intrigued to know who you'd replace him with, what makes you think they'll do a better job and why and also how you'd then stop Henry leaving as a result. And let's leave the speculation and opinions-masquerading as facts (ie, he won't be there anyway) to a minimum, let's deal in straight facts.
Again, I'm not saying he should be fired on the spot, but if he fails to win anything this season and then doesn't strengthen his squad using the "war chest" Dein keeps pointing out is at his disposal, then I wonder how long it will take for people to stop saying "Look how well he's done with so little money!" and start saying "Arsenal need a manager who can take them forward."
