^ Yeah but there's nothing special about rooting any Samsung. They have no special protection at all which is a good thing imo. You can install whatever you want on them without any effort - just plug in your usb and you're ready to go.

I don't like the white back, and the bezel is huge, and its looks too plasticy
The bezel is just as big as with other tablets or Ipad in this matter. Also it's slimmer and lighter while packing a lot more.
I think it looks very good. Personally I wouldn't have any use of a tablet though.

800 MhZ is kinda weaksauce. But it'll be simple to overclock it up past 1GhZ.

One of the best things about the G2 is that Cyanogen is getting one :)

I'd bet on this thing being rooted before it's even released and running CyanogenMod not too long after that.

I am probably just gonna get one of these when it drops. I wasn't really sure if I should get a new phone since I'm moving to the US, but right now I don't know how long my greencard is gonna take, so might as well get something and just pay the termination fee when it comes down to it.
I still haven't grasped the concept of GSM and how it works. Can you not bring a T-Mo phone from UK and buy a SIM for T-Mo US and run it here fine?

Wasn't something similar done with the T-Mo N1 and then putting it on AT&T's network before the N1 came to AT&T?

I'm always told GSM rules because you can take it abroad. Yeah. And pay for another SIM card. And then pay as you go? Fuck it.

My droid is slow as shit.
Someone plz tell me what to do so its faster again.
Are you rooted? I'm using a D1 and I'm rooted and it kicks ass. OCd to 1.25 Ghz....since I'm in and out of the house, I can have it maxed out, come home from class, charge it for 45 and head back out and not run out of juice the whole day. And it's fucking fast.

Use this app to root your phone, although you may want to read a forum first about the other ways you can do it.

This is the app. Install and run it and it roots you: Download Universal_Androot_6.1.apk from Mirrorcreator - Uploading files to multiple file sharing sites

But, there may be some troubleshooting or warnings that can be found in forums by users that have also used this app to root. Might be worth checking that out.

Finally, download Titanium Backup. It's a paid app, but I'll hook you up when you're rooted. You can remove most bloatware VZW puts on there that you never use. I never use. Stuff like the stock Twitter app, Visual Voicemail, Amazon MP3, etc. Remove it and they don't run in the background anymore.

Yup, GSM pwns CDMA. Hence why Verizon are so eager to put out the new dual CDMA/GSM devices.

I use my G1 everywhere with local SIM if I'm gonna be there for a while. Way better than paying roaming charges and shit.

So yeah, if I buy a new phone here I would be able to use it on a GSM network there.

Would 3G be an issue? I think I remember someone saying something about either the N1 on AT&T (T-Mo version) or the iPhone on T-Mo (US) would let them get 3g? They were on EDGE? I dunno. Whatever.

I don't plan on traveling the world that extensively the next few years. I may... but.. no dual-band phones for me. Or, I won't go out of my way to get one, unless it really is kick-ass.

As usual, I say I won't like something but then I do. I was at the airport today and there was a group of seven black people (irrelevant) dressed up in business clothing. Each and every one of them had iPhone 4s, one had his MBP out and the other had his iPad out.

I'm still a student. I have no need for a Droid (smartphone), a laptop , and a tablet, but I fucking love the notion of tablets now, after thinking that I would never find the use for one. I feel as someone who is somewhat excited by gadgets, having one would be great to watch movies on. Beats the iPod Touch I have to lug around.

Also, speaking of my iPod Touch, I plan on selling it soon and using my phone as a music player. I have never used my phone as my primary music player when traveling but I'm thinking about it now. How badly does it affect battery life, the music player?

I'm thinking about getting DoubleTwist as the player.

You guys gotta try this out, if you use iTunes. You need to be connected to a wireless network, both the laptop and the phone on the same one. It is bad ass. Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Just cus the ipad has it doesn't mean the galaxy tab has to have it. I just think the bezel is big. I'd rather have my front be basically all screen. Some sort of metal or something of the sort would look nicer as well, at least I think so. For the high as fucking shit price the tab is going for id expect it to be fucking quality

/\ It is in the Market. That's where I got it from.

It's difficult to find because it's name is "Cubed", but not the word, the little miniature 3 symbol that represents the word, in mathematics. Dumb name, great app. Easily the best music player on Android.

Cubed For Android: A Mesmerizing Music Player

If you have the Barcode Scanner app, that link has a QR code which you can use to download it.

There's a few different ways.

Are you rooted?

I actually posted my homescreens a few months ago... but I can't be bothered to find the post plus my screens are different now so I'll do it again.

If you have root you can try using drocap2.

of course im rooted sucka. drocap2 in the market?
LOL, I remembered after I posted that you were.

Yeah.... it is in the market but I just tried it and it's kinda fail.

There's a real simple way of screencapping if you have the Android SDK installed on your computer. But I'm trying to see if there's an easy app now. Last time I tried, all the screenshot apps were terrible. There's probably some new ones now though.....hopefully one of them is good.

Alright well let me know if you find one.

You know when you get a text you have the option of it scrolling across the notification bar or whatever, what's it called in Cyan settings to change the color of that text
