Yeah I like dark phones - black/dark grey and metallic/silver finish also looks okay to me.
Proper manly phones lol.

But that phone's shape kind of reminds me of Sidekick. Maybe that's why Rukas likes it.

The red doesn't bother me really, I prefer black or a dark tone but the red is alright. I dig red accents more to tell the truth, for instance I think the Evo 4g looks real nice.

As in your Moto Droid? You're in the US and on VZW now?
Milestone. Same difference.

They called the Sidekick line Sidekicks in Australia too, even T-Mobile owns that branding and therefore they were released under the original name - Danger Hiptop.

Whatever branding is better tends to stick across the board, I find. The G1 was released in Canada under it's original name of HTC Dream, yet whenever I'm there and people see my phone they say "Awesome, you have a G1".

What Are These Unreleased AT&T-Ready HTC Phones Doing on Craigslist? | Android Phone Fans

I noticed Facebook had been raping my phone recently. I switch ROMs constantly, so I just never bothered to get the update. Looks like it's fixed: http://androinica.com/2010/08/06/fa...droinica+(Androinica+-++A+Google+Android+Blog)

I wonder how much better te D2 will be than a rooted D1. The eFuse thing Moto puts on now seems like it's tough to break. http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Mot...d:+phonearena/ySoL+(Phone+Arena+-+Latest+News)

i find that the red on that phone looks quite tacky.

also, facebook for android seems to drain my battery with general usage more than the previous version.

something keeps saving to my phone memory, as the free memory is on a slow decline... i keep clearing the cache, from 50MB its down to marginally over 40MB (40.25MB to be precise). next week will it be 30MB and so on? something is definitely up.

Note sure if this or anything about the Samsung Galaxy Q has been posted up in here since details about the device were leaked not long ago.

Samsung Galaxy Q Rumoured Specs Surface » Phone Reviews

Samsung Galaxy Q specs leak, 1 GHz Android, GSM, full-QWERTY? « Boy Genius Report

Samsung Galaxy Q to pack QWERTY, fight BlackBerry? | Electronista

i may just go for this, but the 3 inch screen is what deters me from it - it'll be smaller than my G1 screen, which is 3.2 inches. that's if the Galaxy Q makes its way to the UK. i bet it'll be expensive also, unlike the Galaxy S by the new year (when my contract expires). Also Galaxy S sounds better than Galaxy Q.

I could look past the red color shittiness if it is confirmed it is dual-radio and for VZW. My life could be complete, in terms of cell phones. Not that I travel a lot, but the one week you do head to Canada or Europe for vacation, paying out the ass for a new phone is not worth the hassle. You can't do pay as you go with CDMA.

Wow it seems to actually be small and even slimmer than the original Galaxy. Awesome, if it's true this will open the gate to future small Android devices with nice specs. 9,25mm with a full qwerty?
Price-wise I think it won't be much cheaper than the Galaxy S though.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S vs. Apple iPhone 4: Collision course - GSMArena.com

HA! The Galaxy S owned the Iphone 4 in almost every category.

Judging by the conclusion GsmArena was afraid to sum up all the points :p so I did:

Samsung Galaxy S vs. Iphone 4 - 78:60

In my opinion it seemed that some points for the Iphone were highly forced - for example it got only 1 point less for its screen which is a smaller LCD with all of its flaws vs Samsung's 4 inch S-AMOLED. Also, Iphone got more points for design and apps. While there are still more apps on Apple's market which seemed to be their priority I think that design is a very subjective thing and shouldn't be considered in a comparison like this.
Then there are at least a few other categories where the Galaxy S is better that weren't mentioned - starting from its price, availability to battery life which in tests is twice as good.

Still I can see a bunch of Iphone fanboys leaving GsmArena for a different website that is further in Apple's ass. Apple might even consider banning the site the good ol' commie way.
"Oh noez, it's them who compared the holy Iphone to another device!".

HTC's 4.3-inch Desire HD shows up on video -- Engadget

We saw our first images of the Desire HD over the weekend, and just as day follows night, video leaks typically follow pictorial ones. You'll already be familiar with the mooted specs -- including 720p HD video recording, WVGA screen resolution, and an 8 megapixel imager -- so what else does this handset tour reveal? Well, the family resemblance to HTC's other 4.3-inchers is inevitably apparent to see, with the Desire HD sticking its headphone port at the bottom just like the HD2, and employing a dual LED flash à la the EVO 4G. Beyond that, it looks like yet another well rounded device from the prolific Taiwanese phone maker -- hurry past the break to see it for yourself.

This thing is sexy. It's kinda similar to a HD2 but with Android 2.2 and the aluminium shell of the HTC Legend. Very cool indeed.

This will be probably be out next month.

Looks good but isn't 4.3" a bit big for a phone, I thought that the Galaxy was about as big as I'd like.
I personally thought that it might be too big before I tried one out. When I was in Canada last month, a friend of ours had a HTC HD2, which is almost identical to that device pictured except it runs WinMo:

I played around with it and it didn't feel too big. Anything bigger than that, probably would be too big. But 4.3" works for me personally, I just need someone to hurry up and build something with a 4.3" screen AND a QWERTY keyboard.

http://phandroid.com/2010/08/09/droid-2-gets-a-full-page-ad-in-newspaper-coming-soon/

There’s nothing entirely special to see here: the latest Droids are lined up beneath the unreleased Motorola Droid 2 with a hint of availability: we should see the device “coming soon”. Oh, and we’re also urged to rule our empire with iron thumbs with these devices, but I’m just not sure if I can undergo such a transition. I like my flesh… well maybe I can give up just one of my thumbs for any of these.
We’ve also been treated to some early pricing details from Best Buy. As they usually price these types of devices, the Droid 2 will be available through them for $199.99 after a two-year agreement and $599.99 if you want to walk out with no contract to fiddle around with. The prices may vary if you’re buying straight from Motorola or Verizon (or any other third party retailer).
Finally, the original Motorola Droid is now out of stock from Verizon. Just in time for the Droid 2 to stroll in August 12th, no?

LMFAO.

Did you guys hear about what some folks have been doing in Apple stores?

Basically you can jailbreak an iPhone and iPad now simply by visiting JailbreakMe on the device using a exploit in the browser. So Apple obviously blocked their site from their stores wifi networks.....

So folks with Android phones have been turning on their Wireless Tether, connecting the iDevices to the internet through their Android phones and jailbreaking all the devices.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
