I wiped and it didn't really do shit... I might go through the whole process again so everything is reset, I'm gonna try to find an easier way to do it first

you dont need to do a wipe, but it might clear out some unnecessary cache and data from a previous rom.

i flashed test-7 from test-1 without performing a wipe.

theyve removed those features because they were playing up in test-6 i think. it'll be back soon.

im still unable to set a picture for my contacts.

could some of you test adding a picture to a contact or two in your address book please and tell me if you get any force close errors? thanks.

thats odd. it should boot up. did you place test-7 rom in the root directory of your sd card? did you rename ir or not? also, do a soft reset (press call button + menu + end call button, in combination). then let it reboot. the nexus one logo will probably be there for about 7 mins (instead of the cyanogen logo).

edit: it'd be good if you have a recent nandroid backup in case you would like to restore your phone to a previous state.

I think the problem might be that when i tried to install the danger spl the first time it said multiple firmware images, cant boot form hboot or something like that. but then cyans 4.whatever rom booted up no problems...

Froyo Is Being Pushed TO The Nexus One Now | Android Community

Early this morning a writer from TechCrunch made a claim that before he went to bed last night, he put his phone on the charger. Before he put it down he noticed that he had a notification for an update. So he installed the update and what do you know, he had 2.2. Most of us around the web did not think this was real, no one else had it and screen shots didn’t look to good. But, people in various parts started to receive this update and it’s pretty much confirmed. Froyo is being pushed out to the Nexus One right now.

Things like this is what makes the Ne us One a great device to have. Those of us with a Nexus will receive the update straight from Google. It could be 4 or more months before other devices receive this update and by then our beloved Nexus Ones will likely be on “Gingerbread”.
We’re all anxiously awaiting the arrival of the OTA to our own devices. People have been unrooting all morning in an effort to get a hold of this tasty treat. Engadget has also confirmed this OTA, they have it on their device right now. Looks like the guy from TechCrunch really is a very lucky guy, he’s probably the first person in the world to get Android 2.2.

Droid 2 or Shadow? | Android Community

With all the excitement we’ve had today with the release of Froyo, the Droid 2 almost slipped by us. The folks over at Howard Forums have received some specs and more information on the next iteration of Verizon’s Droid series. The picture of the manual below is none other than the successor of the Droid.

Rumored Specs:

- 4.3 inch Screen.
- 12 Mega-Pixel Camera With Xenon Flash And Led Flash
- FULL HD 1080P Video Recording
- HDMI Port
- 3.5 MM Jack
- 32GB internal storage
- Hardware Keyboard
- Android 2.2 Froyo

This will be a MotoBlur device, but this isn’t the MotoBlur we are all used too. It appears that it has undergone a complete overhaul and looks totally different than before. Whenever this does hit the streets let’s keep our fingers crossed for Android 2.2 to be preinstalled on this next great Android beast.

This phone looks great, and has a slide out qwerty keyboard, something i am now highly interested in but cant see it coming to the UK any time soon. even the original moto droid is only available here at a full unsubsidised price without a contract, known as the motorola milestone. :(

to those of you who are considering getting the HTC Evo:

HTC EVO 4G rooted [Video] | Android Community

HTC’s EVO 4G smartphone has been rooted – before the handset is even in Sprint stores. A couple of keen Android developers – one of whom was given an EVO 4G as part of Google IO last week – have put their heads together and cracked open the WiMAX handset in record time.

In fact it took the three of them just a few hours to gain access to the open-source device’s low level functionality. Unfortunately they’re not sharing details of the exploit as yet, but we imagine that once the EVO 4G is generally available it won’t be long before we start seeing hacks and modifications.

I'm probably going to get an HTC Desire when my contract's up (or when 3 stop being cunts and offer me the tariff I want). Will it come with the new version of Android, or will I be able to upgrade it?

HTC Desire comes with 2.1. Chances are they'll make a 2.2 update within the next 2-3 months.

Sandeep I could be wrong but I don't think the Droid2 will have Motoblur. There's two phones coming out on Verizon, the Motorola Shadow and the Droid2 and I think that people are confusing information about the two.

There has been a leaked photo of the Shadow. This one will have Motoblur.

any luck yet? you might have to restore to the last back up you made and then try again, otherwise just flash a previous rom back on again.

Yeah I got it working fine, turns out the Danger SPL i dl'd was corrupt. But yeah everythin is working fine. I decided to try Swype out as well, it actually works amazingly good, works a lot better than I thought it would.
