64 Year Old man, brutally beat by police, caught on tape...

A videotape made by the Associated Press Television News crew shows two patrolmen repeatedly punching a man identified as 64-year-old Robert Davis. The tape shows a third officer grabbing and shoving an APTN producer.
TOTALLY uncalled for. Fucking skull fractures for some public intoxication? That's some bullshit. Police plead not guilty, and that shit was caught on tape!

your right it is uncalled for. they shouldn't have punched the guy liked they did or start pushing that AP producer against the car. but i havent seen the whole tape yet. i've only seen edited parts of it.

The man resisted arrest and assaulted an officer at a time when "about 300 officers apparently either died, abandoned their posts or disappeared for some other reason." As one of the officers involved said, "I've been here for six weeks trying to keep...alive..."

I don't care how old the fool was, you assault the police and resist arrest, you're getting hit until you cooperate. I saw nothing wrong in that video. He was obviously resisting arrest and he got punched - big deal. The first 4 punches were thrown when there were just two officers and he still resisted. Later when there were 4+ officers they still couldn't get him into cuffs and a couple more compliance strikes (punches) were thrown. He could have been batoned, and how would have that have looked on video!!!

Arrests are never textbook and the violence needed to take someone into custody never looks pretty.

It's a sad day for those NOPD members when they are apparently arrested before the investigation is completed.

I will agree the officer responding to the AP reporter went overboard, but I have not been under that kind of stress for 6 weeks, and have no idea what I would have done.

Police training ought to include learning to ignore the yelping poodles of the media; officers should not be distracted by mere nuisances.

Safe bet: No one criticising the officers trying to arrest the
resisting drunk EVER has had to try arrest a resisting drunk.

Safer bet: If they did, they would probably botch it too.

Jokerman, your an idiot.

I bet you think those cops that fucked up Rodney King were aight too, huh?

What about the fucking cops that fucked up Pac in that whole j walking incident?

What about the fucking cops that TAZERED a black man here in my hometown to DEATH, for LOITERING. That was just last year, is that fine, is that policy procedure?

Your arguement is so flawed its not even funny. "He got hit with four punches? Big deal?" Your a fucking idiot, his head slammed against the fucking wall. He is 64 years old, he was a fucking retired teacher. Your an idiot. Look at the aftermath, that is not called for. That is police brutality.

Stupid ass mother fucker.

Have YOU ever tried to arrest a drunk man? So how the fuck can you use that against anyone. Besides that, the man was fucking 64 years old. He was probably a fucking grandfather.

AND his lawyer said that he "had not touched a drop of alcohol Saturday night", which could very well be true. Untill the investigation is over we will not know. Don't run your mouth if you dont have all the facts.

Not only that, but how is it a sad day for the NOPD when those officers are reprimanded? I don't give a fuck what you say, three white cops beating of some old black man, that's on some racist bullshit.

You sound like a little rich bitch, why the fuck you on a Tupac board? Get the fuck outta here man.

Boy, he sure did a lot of fucking for a 64-year-old grandfather. Someone needed to give him a beatdown.

You do agree that the line between "necessary violence" and "a punch for good measure" is a very one indeed?

Police officers, and i don't care what situation they are in, must always remember carefully what their responsibilities are. And not abuse their "power" by giving an old drunk a couple of more whacks because he pissed you off.

DrugBa11ad can't accept that other people have different opinions.
