THats what i mean. top class players. thats what we need now

It's just that people go around and claim that Liverpool should buy big players and then throw in names from big teams.

It's like when Chelsea bought Ballack, just because he was Ballack. He hasn't done shit since he moved to London... I don't want to end up with a Toni on my team.

I'd rather buy a young player who will become a great player (like what Wegner has been doing for the last 12 years) than some of those morons who are about to turn 64...

Birmingham beat Reading 2-1, meaning that Birmingham clinched automatic promotion and Reading are in the play-offs along with Sheffield United, Burnley and Preston North end. Cardiff City finished 7th with equal points and goal difference as Preston.

I watched the last day of the Championship. Exciting stuff.

Who's says Toni is a big name player?

nah i dint say anything about signing big name players like Ballack. I said we need to sign 1 or 2 more established top class players in the prime of their careers like David Villa, David Silva or Frank Ribery for example. The player i want most is Frank Ribery because we need a top class winger.

We have good youngsters already. We are going to have to wait another few years for them to develop. Same if we buy some more young players.

i watched the championship today too. Reading were poor.

^^yea that was devastating for them.

Burnley could win the play-offs. They are a good team. My friend is a huge Burnley fan.Reading were shit today. I know Kevin Doyle has been injured recently but i dont get why they left him on the bench. He is their best player by a mile.Maybe he isnt fully fit. That Matejovsky is a Czech Republic international and he only he came on as a sub as well.

yea but its most likely Liverpool will play with Torres up front and Gerrard behind him next season. So the striker we buy is most likely going to be a back up for Torres. But yea Dzeko might be ideal. He is still young and looks a very good player. We need another reliable striker.

All this stuff about Xabi Alonso is starting up again. They could hardly sell him after the season he's had. He was outstanding again today. An un named team put in a bid for Mascherano recently as well but it was rejected. The team was not Spanish or Italian but were a good team.

i think its most likely an english club.

I was thinking Man City but they already have De Jong and he did say a good team lol. Maybe Arsenal? Someone on one of the Liverpool forums suggested that it was Villa and the offer involved Gareth Barry. I doubt it though. I think it was Arsenal.

Dude, we can't sign anyone just like that just because we are Liverpool.. Hell even Man Utd can't do that. Plus we have absolutely no money... A big 0 with a bar...

^^we do have money to spend on players. what did we get for Keane and of course he is going to have money on top of that. Do you think he would have signed a new contract if he was going to have no transfer budget in the summer?

do you realise that Valencia are going bankrupt and need to sell so players like Mata are realistic targets for a club like Liverpool. We have been heavily linked with David Silva as well. We got Torres for 26 million 2 years ago. No one expected that.

Apparantly Barry to Liverpool is a done deal. Im all for that move as long as it doesnt mean that Alonso is leaving. I will be pissed off if Alonso goes.
