i pick sonic. i grew with the sega genesis lol sonic and i got a dope ass memories lol too bad the new sonic games are terrible

bring back the 2D sonic!

Sonic was good 2D, but 3D barely does it justice.

From the age of 3 to the age of 10, all I gave a fuck about was Sonic and Michael Jackson. I would, years later, find out the two were strangely linked, and not just because of the awesome Moonwalker game.
I still have my Sega Mega Drive (Genesis for you Americans) somewhere, but all the cables are broken. I have an emulator with all the classics and more, but one day I'll buy another Mega Drive just for the retro factor.

Sonic is nice and all but not really in the same league as Mario.

Super Mario games were all great, still great till this day, from GB to console. Mario 64 was brilliant, Mario Galaxy is awesome. Sonic hasn't had a great title for some time.

Mario has always bought new ideas to the table, Sonic stayed the same. I love the original Sonic, I remember the first time I completed it. It was awesome but it's no Mario.

Super Mario: 6 Golden Coins is better than almost every Sonic game

Mario RPG alone is better than every Sonic game put together

Also Pauly, I have a totally different opinion. I think that Mario is not in the same league as Sonic. Everybody knows and loves Sonic. I guess it all depends on environment but usually you get bored of Mario after you're more than 10 years old. Kids buy it and that's why it sells well.
It wouldn't sell these days if it wasn't forced in all Nintendo consoles. It's just built in most Nintendo games, they are full of it. Sonic is an icon and it represents a company that doesn't sell consoles anymore so people buying it get it because they really like Sonic. It proved itself by migrating from Sega's consoles to xbox and playstation. I can't picture Mario selling well on these systems. I'm quite sure that I'd die with Nintendo. I guess this poll kind of proves that on a small scale.

Ahhh you see it's the otherway around for me. Sonic was just collect rings, jump aorund a few times, finish stage, pretty simple stuff. They didn't get really add to that...

Super Mario Bros 1-3 were greatness and not exactly easy to beat. Mario games are alot more challenging and more fun.
