Ok so a couple weeks ago at college I was arrested for an open intoxicant on public property. I recieved this ticket, as well as underage drinking, and a fake i.d. My court date it tomorrow and I want to know how you guys would plead. Basically, "No Contest" is not an option because it does nothing for you. So that narrows it down to Guilty or Not Guilty. I know plenty of people who have gotten underage tickets, and all pleaded Not Guilty, but they were not breathalyzed at the scene like I was. And also, the police do have my fake I.D. So basically if I were to plead Not Guilty, I would be banking on them not wanting to take it to court and giving me a better bargain than I could get with a "Guilty Plea." Does anyone have suggestions?

Anyway, if it's your first misdemeanor offense, you can plead guilty and ask for a deferred sentence (what I did) where they close the case and never find you "officially" guilty, and after a year of good behavior (not gettin arrested), they take it off your record completely.
You'll have a public defender available for you, but usually they just don't care to help as much as a lawyer would because you'd pay him. Why the hell did you wait till the last day to make this thread?

Well I was at the Mifflin Street Block Party. I don't know if you've ever heard of that, but you should Wiki it...it's like the largest block party in the world. They don't even consider the fake I.D. to be a misdemeanor, they consider it to just be a citation. What was your "sentence"? Because what I was told was there's no chance for jail time or anything, just paying my ticket. It's a municipal ordinance violation, so a public defender is not available to me. I waited until now because it never even occurred to me. I've been asking people in real life for weeks, and SH just dawned on me like an hour ago.
I heard that if I plead guilty, I can get it slightly reduced, but my tickets totalled $917. I heard if I plead not guilty, they will possibly give me a better deal because they don't want a trial for something so small, especially with over 400 arrests that happened on the same day at the same party. But if they do want to take it to trial, I mean they have a pretty strong case against me, as I blew a .08 and they have my fake.
Plead not guilty,
Say a friend made you the fake i.d. for laughs with friends.
Say you drank a lot of NyQuil, because you got sick and were tired because all of the stress from finals and that you were also taking some halls too.

I was actually thinking about saying that about the fake, but I mean it's really fucking legit. Like to the point that it actually has a state hologram. I thought about the Nyquil thing too actually lol but there's no way it would work for a .08.

just pay the ticket, you'll waste more time and money fighting it, especially when you are actually guilty.
