when someone criticizes your job, your wealth or your toys, there is a way about that. you can work with your own personality, practice, and become a sharper intellect - and in turn get a better job. with doing that, or taking chances, or other possible solutions, you can earn more money. with more money, you can buy a more expensive car, you can buy a ps3. assuming you don't live in a development country the only thing that stands between a loser and glory is his will power.

when you make fun of someone's curves or appearance, it is something different altogether. being fat is the only thing you can work on. i don't think people who are fat and hate their lives really have an excuse to not do something about it, unless they have a medical condition that unables them to maintain a regular body weight. other than that, being mean to someone cause of their looks is, if you ask me, lower on the moral ladder. also, it makes less sense, because like i said. when you tell someone they have a shitty job, you are telling them that you find their trivial efforts in life laughable. this is rectifiable. when you tell someone they look ugly, you are basically saying that you look down on them for being victims of some outer factor. you are destroying a person, not encouraging him/her to become a "better" person.

so there. there is a fundamental difference, although maybe the jealousy that guys and girls experience might be similar.
