I got like 5 Snapchats in a row this morning from the same teenage girl. No idea who she is. I think she may have gotten me confused with someone else.

I haven't replied.

I just bought my first tent, they're more expensive than i thought. I'm going to Glendo, Wyoming next week. Get to boat, jump off cliffs and enjoy absolutely nothing for 4 days, should be nice.

Fucking Jay-Z, man..... Album eats nuts.

Joey Badass's mixtape is alright, though. Did some work while listening to it and the beats are real nice. Kinda like beats from the 90s. Mellow stuff.

I still buy albums. But buy very few these days. I find myself listening to more and more music from 60s, 70s and 90s. I am looking to buy a tube amp and a decent turntable. Bring life to great music rather than persevering with the disposable music of today's generation. Some great music out there still being made, but people have attention spans of 15 seconds.

I will never listen to music on my computer. I usually stream it to my stereo via my squeezebox. I do have a decent set of headphones, but don't use them very often.

I am trying to get more of my music in 24bit rips, which is not widely available. I guess there isn't much of a demand for it. Dr Dre mentioned a few years ago that he was keen to get 24 bit music out there to the masses. That's how he records and mixes it, then it is reduced to 16 bit so that it can be stuck on a CD. There are some high fidelity digital rips available. But they're not cheap.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is so much phenomenal music coming out each year, I can't keep up with it. It's all really alternative, indie rock though and unless you go looking for it, you won't be exposed to it.

But I mean, you live in the UK. That's where all the good music originates. What the fuck man. Step your game up.

I streamed it and like 3 songs stood out to me. The rest of the songs were okay. He honestly sounded tired/bored on some songs.

Another album where 2pac is mentioned. Typical.

Rick Ross in it is a joke. "Reebox on, (ugh), i just do it" smfh

Beats today sound way different than they did in the late 90s and early 2000s. I don't like it. I think that's a big reason a lot of rappers from the 90s still rapping today have shit albums. Mobb Deep, Jay, Nas. I can't get past their fake beats. Their lyrics are hit or miss, too.

Maybe I'm talking out my ass here, but I reckon it's beyond hard to stay relevant when you don't create the music you are putting out.

As in produce most of your own album? I don't know if it's 100% true, but I would say that having 20 different producers for 20 different songs is one way to make your album all over the place. I don't know how many albums from the 90s followed that rule, but an album, as a whole, had a very similar theme throughout it. The beats unconsciously made allusions to to songs within the album something I'm guessing is the result of the same producer. These days it seems the next song on an album is done by a completely different artist, almost. And I don't like that. You like a rapper because of his style, and for me, the beats have a big part in that. The content is a close second. How are you going to have an introspective song followed by a song about fucking and money? Or a song all about drugs?
