was watching highlights of Borussia Dortmund v Mainz earlier and notices that Zidan is now back with Mainz?

Why did he leave Dortmund? he was a key player for them last season right? did he fall out with the manager or lose form?

its a disgrace that he's been sacked.

i liked Villas Boas tbh. hope he bounces back.

hope Benitez doesnt go there.
I think they should have sacked him 6 weeks ago, and I am a big give the manager a chance advocate. He was completely out of his depth and lost the dressing room. There is no way back from that. As soon as he stuck Anelka and Alex in the reserves instead of using them until they left, I realised his days were numbered.

Benitez won't go there. He likes to take winning teams and fuck them up. He wouldn't be able to do that at Chelsea. ;)

he showed that he is a good coach with what he did with Porto.

considering his age, i just think its ridiculous getting rid of him after a couple of months. doesnt make much sense.

Abramovic has had 8 managers in 8 years

Boas' goal was to build a winning team with youthful players, it was a multi-year deal. The problem is that the older players who can't come to terms with the fact that they're ageing were bitching like cunts. Do players like Lampard (who is what, 35?) really think they can play week in week out? Get out of here.
How much is it going to cost Chelsea to break yet another contract? 10M+? With all the money they've thrown around for managers, they could have stuck with someone for more than a year, and used it to rejuvenate the squad.

All in all, ridiculous decision.

Villas Boas cut too quick and too drastically. He created drama in the dressing room. If that was his instruction, then fine. But... It doesn't seem that way from the sacking.

Managing a club like Chelsea is like managing a FTSE 100 company. Do you think Coke would keep their CEO if he made the same mistakes as Villa Boas.

Wow, just wow.

Manager Pep Guardiola said after the game: "You have few players who dominate like this, but he does it. You can compare him perfectly to [basketball legend Michael] Jordan.
The chip.

He has perfected the chip.

Ball goes so damn high, then drops right in front of the bar and into the goal.

Not just that. But he has some amazing players in that Barca team. would he be as good without them? And not just winning the worldcup, but actually turning it on on the international stage... Great player.... But not Diego... or Jordan.

^Are Barcelona any good without Messi? I'm more of a Pele fan than Maradona anyway. I remember when I was young I was counting on Maradona to help Argentina beat West Germany in Italia 90. Never happened :D

Did anyone catch the Rangers/Celtic game? I thought it was quite entertaining.
