People treat Facebook like a combination of Twitter and al-Jazeera. They want to be the first to report the news, before any of their friends do, like proper news networks like al-Jazeera, but they don't know shit about the situation, unlike proper news networks. Everyone just wants to be the on that comes to mind when someone they know reflects on Whitney's death and then thinks "oh, Derp was the first to break the news on this person's death. They're so in touch with the world."

It makes me sick watching the media balance the line between paying respect to her accomplishments while highlighting all her failures and pitfalls. Only a year or so ago the media were ripping into her about the failed Tour she did here and nasty little headlines about it. Now the headline reads: "We Will Always Love You" and it just disgusts me that we (they) can't pay the same respect to her when she's living, and take the opportunity to kick someone when they're down. Just sad.
